Chance me for UT AUSTIN, TEXAS A&M, STANFORD, CAL Berkeley, Purdue, Michigan Engineering

Hi, I want to know my chances of getting into the engineering programs of some of the schools listed above. I am currently a junior and am thinking about what more I need to do to get accepted to the majority of the listed schools. I live in Texas, so I would be out of state for Stanford, Berkeley, Purdue and Michigan.

Here are some of my Stats:
SAT:
Math: 800
Reading: 740
Writing: 650
(Should I retake it in January? These were my scores from the October 2015 exam. Would these scores suffice for some of the Engineering honors programs at UT and A&M, and would these scores cut it for Stanford?)
ACT-(Planning on taking this soon, starting to study for it, what is a reasonable score i should reach for?)
SAT Subject Test:
Math 2-800
Chemistry-800
(Should I throw in Physics or would this suffice?)

My EC’s include Mu Alpha Theta and NHS, and some minor leadership positions in them. I plan on running for a bigger position my senior year. I am also on Varsity Science Bowl

AP Classes I have taken, am currently taking, and planning on taking my senior year:
AP Chemistry, AP World History, AP Computer Science, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Physics 1, AP Physics C, AP Biology, AP Language and Composition. AP Psychology, and AP Literature and Composition

My GPA:
Unweighted: 3.96/4
Weighted: 5.86/6
Rank: (3/650)

What would I need to do in order to get accepted into an honors program at one of these schools, and admissions wise, what would I need to do in order to be considered by most of these colleges? Also, how much would being recognized as a National merit semifinalist help me? I just took the psat in october, but I think i did really well on it, and therefore think I did well enough to qualify.

I am aiming mainly towards Electrical/Computer Engineering or Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering. I would pick which one based on what schools I get into. Also, I am planning on doing a math minor.

If you have read up to here, THANK YOU! Would appreciate any constructive criticism.
Thanks again!

If you keep up your grades, you should be an auto-admit to the Texas Schools, and a match for Purdue and Michigan. (MI engineering does not care about your writing score). Stanford is going to be a reach, try to improve your SAT/ACT , take your SO team to nationals as a captain, file a few patents… but you should be fine for all of the other schools you listed.

NMSF won’t help you, but you could get free tuition at a number of schools.

Stanford, Berkeley, Purdue and Michigan.
Berkeley: Match
Stanford: High Reach
Purdue :Low Reach/ High Match (engineering school admissions have been very low in the past years)
Michigan: High Match

Berkeley: Match
Stanford: Reach
Purdue :Safety
Michigan: Match

You stand a very good chance to get into Austin or A&M for petroleum. Plan to repeat SAT for Stanford. All the best

Umich has been becoming especially competitive for out of state, but I think you have a decent chance.

At umich, your choice of specific major has no bearing on your chances of admission into CoE. Every freshman comes in undeclared and you can only declare after completing certain coursework while in college and meeting a minimum GPA. The honors program at umich is also one that you apply to while in college. You need to maintain a 3.6 GPA while in college to qualify.

If you are after “name”, then bring an elite school to your list such as Cornell which does not care about your weakest point (650 at SAT WR), then you will have much better chance (unless cold weather is a no-no for you).
