My GPA and it is a 3.979 GPA weighted on a 4.0 scale, and a 4.0 out of a 4.0 GPA weighted. My SAT scores are a 670 in CR, 670 in math, and 720 in writing. I am not in the top 10%, but definitely in the top 15%.

My first choice major is Neuroscience and my second choice major is Psychology (BA), and I am a pre-med. What are my chances of getting in to these majors at UT? Neuroscience is what I really really want to pursue. Will I get into the College of Natural Sciences with my stats?

I am worried about not having a rank in the top 10%...

Trust me you’re fine. Your standardized test scores are above the cutoff for UT Austin. It is a bit hard to judge without your extra-curriculars but, your academic performance looks strong. You should try focusing on your essay more. Start drafting and preparing for it a month before. Revise, go over, and write about something that you are really passionate about whether it’s a sport, or a hobby, or an extra-curricular activity. Essays are important parts of your whole application. They can make you or break you. Other than that, good luck and I hope you get in! It’s a challenging school to get into with an acceptance rate of 39%.

Thank you so much. I did spend a lot of time on my essays already, and I felt like they were the best I could do. I have a strong resume I believe, so thank you! Would not having a rank be detrimental though?
