GPA is 3.72 weighted
I've taken all AP/Pre-AP classes but no AP tests so far.
Taking 7 APs senior year
I don't want to brag but my essays are pretty creative and good
Got an 11 on SAT essay
I'm Hispanic from a poor area
Parents divorced, caused me a lot of distraction and took away from my academics
My Ecs are good, founded 4 clubs, president of 3, other leader in two other clubs, average community service, plenty of job experience. Took an internship. Good letters of rec, anything else just ask. Applying to engineering.
All state band 2x
WAYYYY more ECs than usual. Most ECs
Senior course load: AP English, AP Chemistry, AP govt, AP macroeco, AP calculus, AP Stat, AP engineering design and development.

I know I recently posted a chance thread, but I've decided this is the only college I will apply to. I am also applying to Tamu, but I am an auto admit there. Major is mechanical engineering or chemical. Let me know what you think!
Thanks!

I’m also time magazines 2006 person of the year ;)

The school of engineering is one d their most selective, but I think you have a good chance of getting in. I’m not too familiar with the process of weighted GPA at your school (and not taking AP exams is a bit weird), but I’d say the school is a match for you.

Also congrats on being Person of the year. I was also mentioned in that article.

Honestly, I didn’t take the AP exams because I was unprepared. The teachers at my school are below par. Out of 130 students taking it, only 5 passed English, and 2 passed history.
GPA at my school is dumb. 5.0=100, 4.9=99, 4.8=98, etc. in AP classes. In non ap, 4.0=100,3.9=99, etc.

Also I’m instate texas btw.

Anyone please

If someone can chance me for rice and Columbia I’d really appreciate it

Thanks for chancing me!

UT Engineering: Match
Rice: Low reach
Columbia: Reach

Thanks!! :)
