Hey everyone,
I'm waiting for admission releases like everyone else. I'm an in state student who is not auto into UT Austin.
I'm in the top 11% batch of 1300 + students
SAT - 2190 -> 750M 730W 710CR
I have done a bunch of EC's
Debate for all 4 years - State finalist for 2 years, state qualifier all 4 years
Tennis All 4 years - Varsity from sophomore year
Youth and Government 4 years
NHS and other volunteering put together 250 + hours of volunteering
and more

I applied on Oct. 15 for the BHP (Business honors) program and the EHP (Engineering) and I haven't gotten any response. I know BHP is a stretch for being non-auto but what are my chances of getting general admission into the school and getting into the EHP program.

Thanks

I’m trying out for EHP too, and I went to a presentation at Austin last summer. They told me that their mean SAT Composite score (M+CR) is a 1490, so that’s really competitive. Also, they considered class rank as a large portion of the selection process. That being said, I know that once you enter a major there you can transfer into the honors program in you are in the top 10% GPA-wise in your major. Good luck to you!

interesting… that’s the thing i mean my mean sat is 1480 so thats pretty close but im only in the top 11%. That’s the only factor that’s making a bit hesitant. Furthermore, one of my friends who was in the top 15% with a 2220 on his SAT overall got into UT Mccombs (not BHP) on the 14th. The fact that he already got his admission is what is making me even more surprised. Well… i guess we just have to wait it out unforutnately…
