I'm applying as a transfer student to Mechanical Engineering for the spring semester at UT.

My Freshman year at University of Houston was real bad (gpa wise) mostly because of lack of direction or real goal in college(I started at the age of 16 from high school in 2007). I then transfered to Houston Community College after that year and had decided to do Mechanical Engineering. Ever since then I've made all "A"s save for one "B", so my HCC gpa is 3.91, but My grades from UH are coming back to haunt me, since they include them in the total GPA calculation. It came out to be 3.0 on the spot.

I've explained all of this in my Essays, and how i'm sure of what I'm doing, so I'm hoping they'll look at that.
I've also sent two letters of recommendation, one from a professor and one from a Shell Engineer that I know. I haven't taken Physics(taking it now), but I made an A in Calculus I and II. My application is being looked over by the committee as I type this, according to an admissions officer i talked to. And UT doesn't consider high school credentials when looking at transfers. Looking at all this, what would you say my chances are?

Thanks alot in advance.
