<p>I did one of these before but since then, my GPA and scores have changed dramatically.
ACT - 32 (english 34, math 30, reading 31, science 34)
SAT - 1840
SAT Math I- 680, Math II - 600 and Chem 570
GPA 3.98 (weighted)</p>
<p>Okay so here's the deal about my GPA..I transferred to my VA high school right before junior year started and my new school does not offer honors classes, yet when I transferred they still gave me weighted credit. SO by the end of junior year, my GPA was a 4.2 and my rank was 10 out of 544.. and there I am all happy and stuff and pretty sure I'll get into UVA, and then just last week my guidance counselor called me and told me that they made a mistake when I transferred and apparently are not allowed to give me weighted credit for the 5 Honors classes I took at my old school...so my GPA dropped to a 3.98. and rank dropped to 34. so now i'm top 6%. HOWEVER, the 4.2 was already sent out because I applied early action so UVA will see that 4.2...but now they will also see the 3.98 because my school mailed out a revised transcript.</p>
<p>anywhoo...sorry for that long explanation but basically, now i've been SO NERVOUS about UVA it's ridiculous. I can't focus on anything and January 31st is 57 days away :(</p>
<p>I have a good amount of EC's! (Varsity Tennis all four years, Track 2 years, and a whole bunch of clubs w/ leadership positions)</p>

<p>If you you email them, I’m sure they’ll understand since you’re probably not the first person to ever have this happen to them. Your SAT II scores are kinda low, but if everything else is good that may not matter too much. Good luck!</p>
<p>UVA should be fine for you, especially if they understand that you had honors classes but weren’t given credit (which is hopefully explained with the delivery of the revised transcript). ACT is good, SAT is a bit low, but ECs can get you in</p>

<p>I did email them and they said they added it to my application file. My counselor’s letter with the revised transcript only said that they made a mistake when they calculated my GPA when I transferred -__- wish she made it more specific, but she has a lot on her hands so I def understand.</p>
<p>Some details:</p>
<p>7 APs in total (World History, Spanish Lang, Chemistry, Calc AB, Psychology, Biology and English Literature)
5 Honors classes - of which two I got C+s in (Honors English 10 and Honors Alg 2…my teachers were crazy hard!!)</p>
<p>I think uVA will see the transcript disparity, wonder why two are there, and figure it out. Remember it’s about context, how well you’ve done in what level of classes- not ‘what’s the number?’ since GPAs are all over the place. Don’t panic. As to VCU, that’s a safety. If you like it, you can count on being there at least next year.</p>
<p>Sigh, I realize that. I guess I’ll just have to start liking my safety schools since these CC posts are making me realize I don’t have a good chance at UVA either way</p>
<p>Where in Virginia do you live? I’m from the DMV and Northern Virginia kids have a MUCH harder time getting into UVA than kids from more rural parts of the state. If you’re applying in-state, demographics and location are gonna play a big part. </p>
<p>Assuming you’re from a competitive area, I’d say 40% chance. If not, maybe a 55%. </p>
<p>In my Northern Virginia School, over 60 kids have a GPA higher than a 4.0. Not a 4.0 but higher. So if our school ranked, you would be barely top 20% if you had a 4.0 average. Around 150 students of my class of 350 apply and around 40-50 get in to UVA. I feel like you are very competitive though because of your ACT score. You have just as high of a chance as anyone else that is top 20% of the class so probably around 40-60%. Good luck. When I toured, I loved the Mellow Mushroom pizza place.</p>
<p>i didn’t apply to vtech because i just don’t see myself going there. i applied to UVA, my safeties: vcu & george mason, and then Georgetown i’m still working on, but i don’t think i’ll get in anyways so i’m not really stressing bout it. i just really wanna go to uva. like so badly. i have about 50 days till i found out eeeek!!! </p>
