Chance Me for William and Mary?

I am an incoming senior and am wondering my chances of getting accepted to William and Mary. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!!

Glad to hear you’re interested in W&M. Your ECs seem to be consistent and demonstrate leadership which is always positive. Given your involved in music and your all-state designation, you might want to consider making a fine art submission to W&M facutly. Their evaluation of your submission becomes part of your application and if that evaluation is strong it can be a plus factor. [William & Mary - Arts Submissions](http://www.wm.edu/admission/undergraduateadmission/applicationprocess/artssubmissions/index.php)

We would definitely recommend you register for more AP classes your senior year assuming they are offered. We like to see the rigor of your course work increase each year with senior year being the most challenging. Maybe take AP Spanish 5 and AP Calc instead of regular-level courses. You do have calc, physics and the Spanish 4+ on your schedule which are great courses and courses we look for.

Your GPA system does seem counterintuitive but hopefully your school’s profile will explain it. Your class rank is in the top 10% which is great.

Your SAT scores are not the strongest unforutnately. While they are only one part of our process they can make you a more or less competitive applicant. The middle 50% of our OOS students score between a 1380-1430 and you’re currently 100 points below our overall mid 50% range (1280-1430). The good news is we take only your best scores so taking it again cannot hurt you. You might also want to consider taking the ACT in September (1/3 of students do better on the ACT than the SAT).

With W&M, no student is automatically in or out because of thorough and holistic review but on the flip side, we are highly selective admitting only 33% of applicants (only 27% of OOS applicants) so we encourage any applicant who’s interested to apply but to also be realistic.
