Chance me for yale, others?

Hi, I'm a high school junior and I'd just like to know if I'm on the right track for Ivy League schools. My top choice right now is Yale, but I'm also strongly considering Georgetown, Columbia, Brown, Chicago, Amherst, Wesleyan and Swarthmore, with Florida State and University of British Columbia as possible safeties.

Over the summer I hope to do Girls State and a summer program at a college, hopefully Telluride seminar in some current issue, but I don't really expect to get in, so I'll probably do Northwestern's Civic Leadership Institute.

I would really appreciate an honest evaluation of whether I'm on the right track and which schools are reaches, matches etc right now. Also, does anyone know of any other schools with good politics programs?

Sorry for the terrible writing/formatting as I am writing on a cellphone.

Wow… I feel utterly terrible about myself now. Outstanding application though, great chances anywhere(:

Chance me? My really reach-y schools are just to take a crack at them, for closure.

Come back in a year.

Bumpity-bump-bump-bump

Bump bump bump bump

3.92 hurts and probably puts you out of the running for val/sal, but a strong politcal and liberal arts focus makes you look like a solid and focused candidate, which is always a plus. bring that UW as close to 4.0 as possible, do really well on SAT I’s and II’s, and pick up leadership and volunteer activities and you will stand a good chance.

score 2300+ on the SAT w/800s on the SAT iis and you’ll have a great shot any where. yale will still be a reach obviously, but i’d say you have a good chance as all the other schools.

I agree with pbojkner although I’d say a 2200 would suffice, and 750+s on SAT IIs would make you competitive. Make sure your passions or ECs show a dedication to specifically what you want to major in, well rounded is good, but ‘pointless’ is bad.

-read about supporting the Obama campaign-

Welcome to yale.

activities = lots of breadth, not much depth (at least that’s what it seems like)
