Chance me: GAME (kind of)

I've been wanting to make a thread like this for a while, but anyway here's the plan. I think it would be interesting to see how accurate CCers can be for chancing people without all of the subjective stats. Basically, this is a normal chance thread but I want people commenting to make a list of my schools and just say yes or no (or waitlist if you really want to). Feel free to add other comments too but at the end we'll see who was the closest overall. You might even win something.

Here goes:
SAT: 790R 800M 690 W (1590/2280)
ACT: 35C 35, 35, 35, 36 Science 9 essay
SAT II: Math II - 800 Chem - 800
GPA: 4.00 UW/4.65 W
Top 2% of class of 360 something

Senior Course Load
All IB courses and AP courses
Chem, History, Calc BC, English, Econ, Theory of Knowledge, another science (trying to not give away too much personal info)

AP scores - 5s in Stat, Calc, Gov, Psych
4s in history APs and Lang

Honor Societies - Math, normal NHS, Science (VP), Spanish, English

Awards: National Merit, AP scholar, Certificate of achievement at State level for a club

Normal Extracurricular activities
Quiz Bowl (9-12) competitive trivia club. Captain and won districts at some point.
Volunteering club (9-12) - Fairly obvious what happens
Future Problem Solving (10-12) - President. Hard to explain but it is a competitive organizational club. Went to states last year and that's where I got that award.
Stock Market Club (12) - New. VP. Teach econ principles and have an online simulator for members.
Youth in Government (12) - New. Founding member. Put Pres down on app.
Youth Leadership Council (12) - Not school affiliated. Chosen through application. We organize a variety of different volunteer opportunities for the city.
Young Republicans - Treasurer 12th.
School Soccer - 10th grade
School Tennis 9th/10th grade
Played Piano for 10 years - Emphasized on app that I do it for the pleasure not for gaining awards and such

Summer Extracurriculars
Counselor at overnight camp far from where I live for 2 years - Technically received 420 volunteer hours but actual time spent is approximately 1,000

Counselor at a local version of the above camp that was created for 60 hours
EPGY Robotics camp at Stanford
Environmental Leadership camp at Brown
Lead America camp at Stanford

Important Volunteering things
Beach Cleanup Leader for 2 years
Cultural Fair leader - Organized a cultural fair in a disadvantaged area of my city that taught about foreign countries/cultures etc.

I worked for about 20 hours in a hospital last summer

I have more but I only listed things that went on the actual Common App because I deemed them important

Income - Not applying for Financial Aid
Ethnicity - Indian
Essay - Will make or break me. Probably a very original topic but the writing was a little abstract/could be confusing. It apparently works though because I have been accepted at a couple places already.
Supplements- I thought all of them were well written
Recommendations: 2 teachers and counselor rec should be very good (didn't read though)

Did it semi-randomly. Are you class of 2012/16 or are you already at college? Wanna help me out?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1301595-ty-ish-act-score-good-ecs-cornell-rd.html</a></p>

Oh yea good point. I’m class of 16 so when all of the results come out I’ll post them here. Thanks for reminding me to mention that.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that applied as ChemE first choice to a majority of those schools listed. On a couple of them I said Pre-Med or BME (like Duke).

Bump 10char

bump. I thought people would actually find this a more interesting way to chance but I guess not :(

hahaha I think it’s interesting!
Pretty much have to agree with other people…

MIT, waitlisted/no
Vanderbilt, YES

Chance me for G-town? Though I’m feeling a little pessimistic about my own chances after reading your awesome resume!

Haha thanks. I didn’t think I had that great of a resume apart from scores/grades. I think I’m too spread out. I’ll take a look on yours since I applies to Gtown too (forgot to mention it)

ehh you’re a little spread out but it kinda inter-relates with the Republican/Leadership/Youth in Gov’t programs

So did you get into MIT?

I’ll post results for everywhere after I hear back from the last place (Stanford on the 31st)

Bump again

Honestly, there is no real way to chance you. You will likely get into most of these schools, but MIT and Stanford are crapshoots. No matter who is applying, it will always be a reach.

Might as well bump again. Feel free to abandon the original structure I told you to post in since it will probably just be repetitive. Just leave any comments if you want. I’m getting so anxious for Thursday.

Well, based off your resume, you’re pretty much solid. You can never give a 100% guarantee gor the top tier ivys, but you have a good shot at the other ivys… Cornell is prob a yes, but the other thing is, why’d you quit your sports? It makes your app a bit inconsistent…

Well, once you hear from your colleges, would you mind chancing me as well, bc you’ll probably have an idea of how everythig works out by then (:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1309572-chance-me-early-upenn-2012-2013-a.html#post14087206</a></p>

I didn’t try out for soccer but I didn’t make tennis because I occupied the whole first of the year doing other things and never going to lessons. Looking at your thread it seems to me that you’re pretty solid too with the only obvious deficiency being your GPA. You have some nice competitions and stuff that you did well in though.

MIT- No
Vanderbilt- Yes
Duke- Yes or Waitlist
WashU- Yes
Stanford- No
Cornell- Yes
Penn- Waitlist
Brown-Waitlist
Columbia- No

Got into WashU and Vanderbilt and nowhere else
