Chance me: Groton. Just Groton.

Grades:
Math- 100
Science- 100
English- 100
Social Studies- 99 :(
Reading- 100

I played soccer for 3 years (not anymore), club volleyball 1 year, dance team, track, band (baritone/ euphonium and soon to be french horn) for 1 1/2 years, president of student council in 5th grade (does that really count?) lead in a musical in 5th grade also..I express ALOT of interest in drama. but at my school they don't have drama or anything. I also sing pretty well but not formal training. Oh, and I'm in the Video Club where I do the morning announcements every morning. I'm applying for 8th grade (Form ll) BTW.

SSAT Scores: Lower Level
Verbal- 683 (93%)
Math- 632 (69%)
Reading- 671 (90%)
Total- 1986 (90%)

I've also been in the gifted program since 3rd grade. Enrolled in the Duke TIP in 5th grade (that's kinda how I started with all this Prep School stuff. Ensworth School in Nashville wanted me) I'm really good at interviewing and was accepted into the Webb School but I couldn't go because of lack of funds. I am applying for financial aid, and the free tuition for people with income of $75,000 or less applies to me. Does it help at all that I'm Nigerian? (Well my parents are Nigerian but we do everything Nigerian in our house anyway.) And my dad's very educated. Graduate of University of Cambridge and a degree in medicine in Nigeria? So, what do you think? If I wasn't convincing enough here, I'm sure I can be in an interview. I'm really good at those. And essay writing. English is my strong point to say the least...but I want to go into medicine at Yale. OB/GYN to be exact.

GG16 - Great background, minority admission, lots of good stuff. Still, Groton’s 8th grade class is tiny. Why not make it your first choice, but add another slightly less competitive school to the mix so that you have a fallback plan, just in case.

thanks…thats encouraging :)

Awesome. I <3 second formers. Your criteria look amazing, I’m sure you’ll get in. Your math ssat score is a little low, but trust me – you don’t need to be good at math for groton. (:

why is there a sad face next to Socials - 99…

^IKR<ten char=“”></ten>

its pretty funny how u say u got a 100 in math and your SSAT math score was 69%… are you taking third grade math?

plus you took the lower level test too…
