Groton School Applicant

I've just applied to the Groton School. If anyone goes there already and could chance me, I would really appreciate it.

I get all A's

I play soccer 5 days a week

I play the Clarinet and Piano, I'm pretty good at both

I got a 2073 out of 2100 on my SSATs

I do drama and I sing (usually get lead roles in plays)

I'm applying as a day student (I live in Groton)

I have done Rachel's Challenge for my school

I also have another question...... how often is financial aid given out. I can't go if I have to pay more than half. Thanks!

Could someone please respond… I’m really nervous!

how good are you at soccer?
fc stars, bolts, mps ?

cause if you dont you lost your biggest hook and the schools really dont care that much about grades. also you should post a more descriptive resume.

I have not heard of Groton prior to this, but I just researched the school you seem to fit the ideal student description immaculately. They seem to describe look for an intelligent athlete who are not afraid to also participate in some theatrical activities. By the way, I am not saying this because of the review you gave me, I honestly think that you have a very impressive list of achievements.

you had not heard of groton wow sorry… like im guessing you are not from the east coast

I am on a club team, NEFC. I was ranked number one in my town. My coach says I’m a prodigy, but who knows…

youll get in, dont worry;

wait, what about interviews?
also you could contact the soccer coach of their team and show a recent game you played at.

My interviews went great. The man I met with told my parents that he liked me so I guess thats good. He also seemed impressed that I scored 4 goals in my last soccer game. When I told him about my SSATs he seemed impressed as well

Wait schoolgirl, how are you so sure that I will get in?

oh la la. i am also impressed.
youll get in because your amazing.
your interviews went well.
your ssats close to perfect.
grades- amazing.
hook – soccer.

WOW! Thanks. Ahh… I feel so much better now. Just have to wait till March 10th. But I don’t do much community service. Is that a big factor in the decision process?

i havent really researched about groton, but most schools do like it if you have some kind of volunteering or something. its not a main factor, but it is something…

have you volunteered at all? if you did, did you include it in your admission packet/candidate profile?
oh and do you have to write any essays for the application?

I did write essays… I think they came out okay. I did mention that I like to be friendly towards other people and that I encourage other people to be kind to eachother. I wrote a short answer about how I sacrificed a friendship because the person was very mean. I wrote that I lead a fund-raiser to contribute towards a new school playground and there was some other stuff. Do you think that’s good?

if you wrote it good, its sure to sound good.
and what you did was pretty good too.
good job. lol.

Ok thanks! Are you applying anywhere?

exeterrrr.
i hope i get in!!
im so excited.
i have a sense that you can feel my vibe.

Definitely… I hope you get in! Good luck!

haha, thanks. and you too. :)

can you clear something up. you play for NEFC right
i am assuming you are on the top team for the club in either age group
if you play for the U15 elite team then you are in. do you play ODP and if you do than
are you on the pool or roster of 25

u14 not so much
if you play for the u14s then you DO NOT have a hook. you will not make varsity freshman year. coaches only want players who are going to have a impact on the varsity level from the start not someone who will have to play one maybe two seasons on JV for you are ready for the real thing.

for your sake i hope you play for the 15s

if you play for the 15s ( you are also more likely to get financial aid because of sports)
80%
if you play for the 14s
25%
