I already weighed in on your other thread regarding Andover, and even though I disapprove of you posting all this personal information, I’ll give my two cents here.

First of all, there are quite a few grammar mistakes in your answers, which will hopefully be overlooked considering your background.

For the three words question, I personally think that putting “smart” is a bit shallow. Just my honest opinion. And humorous and funny are basically the same thing, so perhaps you could have replaced one of them with another word.

For the third question, you must realize that there is no “right” way to take a photograph. The vast majority of people with cameras are amateurs who just do it for fun or to capture a memory, and there is nothing wrong with that. Saying that you must adjust “angle, light” and everything might sound a bit pompous to an admissions officer. And calling these people (who might very well be reading your answers) “ignorant” might not reflect well on your chances.

Your fourth answer is cut off abruptly. I hope you didn’t submit that.

I’m not sure they were exactly looking for the name of a person, but I suppose that fits.

For your first essay, quoting “boardingschoolreview.com” was probably not the best idea. It has nothing to do with the question.

Also, you are “willing” to visit Groton in the next month? What exactly do you mean by that? Just take a self-guided tour around campus? Because they are already reading the applications and no longer offer interviews, so visiting would be relatively pointless, compared to the travel costs and time.

In the end, I will say that, honestly, you don’t have that high a chance of being accepted to Groton, considering your SSAT, your apparent lack of an interview, and some shaky personal statements, but don’t stop hoping. I’m only another kid, and an AO at Groton might feel very differently. I wish you the best of luck, and hopefully you receive good news on March 10th.
