Cheer up Faris, not so bad but why only Andover? In your case BS would be a good option so dont you want to also apply to a school w/rolling admission? If you really want the Andover area, try Brooks.

My parents OBLIGED me to apply to at least two other schools, I applied to Hotchkiss and George, but as you said, I really like the andover area… If Brooks would let me apply without recs that would be AWESOME… (you know i cant go back to tunis)

I checked them out, Brooks is fine but too artistic stuff… (not my type)
and I didnt like NMH…
Thanks anyways…
Exeter is as hard as Andover when it comes to admissions, I need something where I would have a more chances getting accepted

First off, no one should put their DOB on the internet. Secondly, the fact that that the Andover Interviewer said that you know more about the school than the kids in it is not necessarily a good thing, but what do I know. Furthermore, I do not believe that the SSAT score that you have will affect you too much. The fact that you have four passports to countries that applicants usually don’t have is a plus. I think you have a good chance of considering all of these parts of your application. You should have, although, also applied to Exeter and Hotchkiss, etc… By the Way, are you applying for finanical aid? Well, hope you get in, because you seem like a “competent” applicant, like all other CC’ers etc… Best of luck! :D

I think that if I dont get accepted in Andover i wont in Exceterr…
Im not applying for Financial Aid… I did apply to Hotchkiss and George School…
I HOPE I GET IN!

@faris, you do realize that the George school is a Quaker school and is more artsy than Brooks. Are you interested in their IB program? You should check out the EF International school in Tarrytown NY. They have rolling admission and offer IB.

@Maddog: George school is my last choice, I needed to chose a school that has a big acceptance rate… and I prefer doing IB than going to a normal boarding high school…

Best of luck, your story of being relocated from Lebanon to Tunisia to now…limbo, is very interesting and will certainly make you a unique candidate. You need to find an adult to help with your essays, because they are weak and could improve in general, i don’t know if your british or arabic, being a non native english then your essay would be rather decent. Don’t worry about SSAT’s…Andover is more interested in everything else, and doesn’t weight it too much, :)

@shushgah- so not true. Please consider why phillips andover has teh highest ssat average out of all boarding schools. There is a reason they make everyone take it, maybe to help balance mediocre grades and such. I took the test in oct got a 93, with a 75 in math and the coach told me to retake it.

So will the ssat scores NOT let me get it or NO?

@shushugah: dont worry about my essays, I am sure the language is quite good and doesnt look decent to me I think its bcz of the story, i have so much to say but not so much space!

I FORGOT TO MENTION:
I speak FOUR languages: ENGLISH - FRENCH - ARABIC - SPANISH
