USC’s Honors College is definitely a reach for me.

Asian American, OOS
GPA- 3.95 W-- will go up after they recalculate my GPA after 1st semester
ACT- 31 (32 super scored)
Have taken 6 Honors classes, 3 APs
Dual enrolled at local community college (4 credits)

Varsity Crew Team (4 years)
Volunteer at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum
Ambassador for a girl empowerment movement
Have studied abroad in China
Member of my leadership class- chaired Homecoming Parade and Powderpuff
Elected as a representative of my high school to the county Superintendent

I know my GPA is definitely not up to standards compared to my scores…I’m praying that with the extra boost from my classes this year and USC’s own weighted scale, it will help me.

@arghhhhhh17 Depending on where you live, they might accept you because they might want to recruit more Asian American students, who knows? But with your stats, you might not be eligible for some of their “best” merit-based scholarships. But I think you have a chance if you really work on the essays.

Also, USC does not use Senior year grades in their calculations/admissions.

How strong were your essays and recs? You seem like a good fit (little low on the ACT though). What were your E and M subscores?
