Forgot to mention that I also dance for an extracurricular.

You are planning to graduate from HS two years early? Why?

I skipped the 7th & 8th grade as my teachers thought I wouldn’t gain anything from them, I still will go through all 4 years of high school don’t worry.

I was confused by this statement as well, but more the second part about having a lot of time. Does this mean you plan to take time off after graduation before applying to college (such as gap year)? I’m wondering what abundant time you’re talking about having as a result of your early graduation.

Oh, yes I will be taking 2 gap years but will be applying for college during the second, so I am not a minor in college. Meaning I will have 2 years that would otherwise be spent in HS to strengthen my application.

Maybe look at Emerson too?

Syracuse might be a match but the Bandier program would be a reach. Look at the bios of the students. Very impressive.

OK, so are you perhaps looking for ideas on how to fill the gap year(s), or are you more interested in building a college list based on where you’re at currently?

You can apply ED to only one college (you have 3 schools listed as your ED choice).

To clarify…

NYU has early decision

USC and Berklee have early action

I will ask…is cost a factor? If so…you might want to consider NOT applying Early Decision anywhere as acceptances are binding, and you are required to withdraw all other acceptances and applications if accepted ED.

You therefore would not be able to compare net costs. Are you able to afford these colleges!

Got it…thanks for the clarification

Cost is a not a huge factor to me, but I also have lots of opportunities for more financial aid and scholarships because I am the dependent of someone in the military. I am able to afford the colleges listed.

Both, I’ve been told my college list is quite small, but I don’t know of many other schools with this major and I also would like to bulk up my application and any tips or ideas would be great.

I’m a bit confused. On one hand you say you will be staying in HS for all four years. And on the other you say you will have two years to fill in any gaps.

Are you planning to be in high school for two more years and THEN take two gap years?

  1. Make sure you take any SAT or ACT tests while you are actually IN High School. These tests are designed to be taken by HS students. Not post grads.

  2. Good about affordability.

  3. I don’t think Miami is a target.

  4. You need to discuss this career/major option with folks connected to music…start with your music teachers. If there are any music production companies near you…reach out to someone there to at least discuss this career.

I have gone through grades 1-6 and 9-11, I am ONLY skipping 7&8 so I will graduate at 16; one year from now, after having gone through all years of HS and take 2 gap years to work and strengthen my application, also I will take the SAT during my Junior year, and I believe I listed miami as a safety based on its high acceptance.

Cost is a not a huge factor to me, but I also have lots of opportunities for more financial aid and scholarships because I am the dependent of someone in the military. I am able to afford the colleges listed.

You are right. I don’t believe it’s a safety. Maybe a target.

Oh, also, I have talked to my music teacher and she said she will let me know if any radio stations, music store, etc. need help or offer programs in my prospective field.

YOU need to do some reaching out!!

That makes more sense, I’ll list them as a target.

If you are getting 1320’s on practice tests, THAT’s your expected score. Stop practicing and start looking at what you are getting wrong-- if it’s math, go back and review. If it’s language, start reading more complicated things daily- Wall Street Journal, Financial Times.
