Please recommend additional schools I should probably apply to. Any schools on my list I should not bother with?

Abysmal freshman GPA (2.94) but an A average ever since. ~3.6 GPA junior year
GPA 3.3 Unweighted ~3.4 Weighted (Freshman year really killed me)

I’m probably missing some details, but I’m sure this is enough for you to answer.

I can chance you on the ones I know about…

University of Arkansas:
Highly probability and may get some money for out of state tuition with the 25 ACT and your GPA

Baylor
Unsure. They are selective but with the bad publicity, they may accept more to fill enrollment. Probably not much scholarship money though.

LSU:
Definitely in. Not sure if there’s any scholarship money in there for your stats though (assuming you are OOS)

SMU:
Highly selective process, especially for business! May get in under something else. The tuition can kill a person though.

Texas A&M: This one is dicey. Very selective and really only automatic admits get into Mays. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean you won’t get into TAMU and then transfer into Mays after 30 Aggie hours. Just need a 3.5 at TAMU and certain courses.

University of Texas (Austin): I knew a guy who had a 31 on ACT and was top 9% at competitive HS in Texas. He didn’t get into UT at all. They are so selective and I hate to chance you as poor, but from the acceptance rates and stats I’ve seen, it doesn’t seem likely.

What I love about your stats is you really turned it around and have done a ton EC and volunteering. With good essays, you have a good shot at most of your schools. They will be lucky to have you. Just keep working hard. IT always pays off!

Class rank is the most important factor for any Texas public university.

You can look up their automatic admission criteria on their web sites. If you meet the automatic admission criteria, the campus is a safety (but your intended major may not be). Otherwise, it is likely that the campus is a reach, since most of the slots are filled through automatic admission.
