I’m looking to apply to the film schools on the North East like NYU, Syracuse, Ithaca, BU, Emerson, purchase, etc. but I’m worried.

GPA: 3.45
SAT:1980
I have taken 5 APs over the course of high school.

I am the president of my film club, have been actively involved in theater since the age of 7, I had intenrships with a theater as their videographer and photographer. I was a drama specialist at a sleep away camp. I attened the NY film academy for a summer institute program. I have made numerous films over high school and have won a national video competition.

I have won numerous awards including the AP scholar award, and a recognition from my senator for doing work for my community

I know MY EC’s are very strong and thee are more I haven’t listed. I’m worried my GPA is low for schools like NYU though. what do you think?

If you are a senior, there is not much you can do, but try as hard as you can. If you are not a senior you still have time to boost your gpa. But I think you should give NYU a shot. Maybe you’ll get lucky. Maybe NYU will look past your low gpa if you get a higher score on the SATs or because of your ec’s.

so it depends on the school. NYU has the most intense application for the schools im applying to. You submit a script or 10 minute film, you need a creative resume, and there are three extra essay questions in addition to the common app essay.
