@gman333 why would i be accepted into cornell and rejected from ucla

Sorry I meant to put accepted from UCLA

To be honest you have a very good chance, specially because you have an upward trend and the “low GPA” is in your freshman year so it doesn’t matter, I’ll say you will at least get into 4 of the colleges you mentioned, GOOD LUCK

Can you please chance me back?

I already helped you, would you mind chancing me back? <a href=“What Do You Guys Think? Please Be Honest. - New York University - College Confidential Forums”>What Do You Guys Think? Please Be Honest. - New York University - College Confidential Forums;

to tell you the truth your stats are very good. I think you should be fine for 80 percent of the schools you applied to. the only challenge may be northwestern and Columbia. Overall I want to say good job, I mean seriously your stats are good you should know for sure most of these schools will happen. =]

hey can you chance me back.

UC Berkeley- same as UCLA
University of Missouri-Kansas City- Accepted
Duke- Rejected
U Chicago- Rejected
Washington University STL- not too sure they are very sporadic
Brown- Rejected
What is your race btw?

@classof2018app. My uc gpa is a 4.01 would this help at the uc schools? Also I have solid extracurriculars especially in music with two intl certificates. I can also write very good essays. I am indian by the way. Also I have legacy status at washu

So here is the link to the UCLA website for stats: http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/Prospect/Adm_fr/Frosh_Prof13.htm
Your ACT is way above their average, but as you can see, the GPA average is a bit lower than the average. Keep i n mind that your freshmen gpa doesn’t count. Race doesn’t matter for the UCs (no affirmative action in public schools for california), so you have a very good chance. As for Washu, you have demonstrated a lot of interest in the school and you have legacy, so I would say that you have a very good chance. Best of luck.

and your UC GPA would not be 4.01. It would be the average of your sophomore and junior grades, which would be much higher based on what you wrote. The UC GPA is still a little bit higher (4.4). However, I think your ACT will put you in.

@classof2018app don’t they add extra weight for honors and ap? I used an online calculator to determine my uc gpa.

Just eliminate your freshmen and senior grades. Then you will end up with your UC GPA. Yes they do give weight. They also look at your unweighted. The average admitted student had a 4.4 last year, which include school-based honors. The link that I sent you lists the weighted gpa of the admitted. I would imagine it being about 4.43 this year, since it goes up by about 0.03 every year (inflation of grades hhahahah :D)

Bumppppp
