I started a club in my sophomore year and am the president of it in my school that helps third-world country schools become self-relient, meaning that instead of depending on donations, the school will develop their own source of income. This is an organization started by another student and I started my school's branch. We helped a school in Enga, Papua New Guinea this past year, and is looking for school in Asia. During the year we have several fundraisers.

In freshman year, a group and I entered a documentary film we created into the National History Day competition and received 3rd place. The documetnary film was about a Chinese man who saved Jews in Vienna during the Holocaust. We were able to get into contact with his daughter, who is currently still conducting research on his father, to our school and give a presentation.

Also in freshman year, a friend and I planned a "Sock drive" for the constructions workers at our school working on our new high school building. We put toiletries in socks to give to our workers for the winter.

APs (including the ones I will take in senior year): World History, Chinese, Literature, Psychology, Calc AB, AP Econ, AP Lang
Honors: Bio, Chem, Physics, World Literature
Other : French (1-3), Advanced Studio Art (rigorous course)
I have always been a year advance in math.

GPA:
My GPA was horrible my underclassmen years but it improved every semester.
Junior year GPA is a 3.7, but cumulative is only 3.45

SAT II Lit: 740
SAT II Math 2: 720
SAT I: will take in Oct and Nov --- considering all the information above, what should I aim for?

need more info? ask me! I need all the help I can get!

is your 3.45 gpa weighted or unweighted? i’m not too sure how the grading system works in china… i would say, you should mainly focus on your grades. the average weighted gpa of those accepted at unc is around a 4.3… ish i think. so i would try to get really good grades your senior year. and also, since you’re competing against other international students (who are all pretty smart sad to say…) your sat score needs to be in he 2000s at least. try to aim for around a 2200 … it does seem really high, but this is what i’ve heard from people who applied as an international student. hope this helps.
