CHANCE ME [ivys, gtown, uva, tufts]

Hi everyone.

I am a white female U.S living abroad. I currently live in Yerevan where I’ve attended local schools post prep school. Now I attend an international school here.

SATs: NONE my family is a super high risk, so I put their health first and decided I’m not taking it this year. Armenia has one of the highest per capita cases right now, so I’m not taking any chances.

AP: APUSH (5) didn’t take the course or study, AP World History (4), AP COGO (4), AP HUG (4)-- tbh was expecting better scores but this year was hard.

for a senior year I’m taking 7-AP macro/micro, calc AB, Research, ENVI SCI, ART History, Computer SCI principles.

I ended my junior year with a 3.99, and hopefully next fall ill have a 4.0 which will bring my total average to a 3.9. It’s also important to note, I took more APs than my school could offer, self-studying, and taking courses online (took the most rigorous course load available).

Outside of School: was the first teenager who was under 18 to found and run a national and almost international youth-led NGO. The NGO creates opportunities for students to become active members of civil society, volunteer opportunities, government advisory, eco-team, etc. Partner with UNICEF, and various branches of the government.

Co-founded an environmentally sustainable startup, which has so far received government grants, and recognition from silicon valley.

MUN: Senior member of the MUN club at my school. We’ve done 4 big international conferences around the world, and I’ve earned the best delegate awards at 3.

Nominated to serve as the first high school intern at the president’s office.

Was the volunteer coordinator at the world’s biggest tech conference that was hosted here. Sorted kids to speakers, and coordinated local trips for notable guests such as the Kardashians, and Richard Clarke. I was also the named production assistant for one of the KUWTK episodes (probs won’t put that on my app, because it just seems weird).

At school, I was nominated to serve on the school’s environmental committee, am an active member of NHS. I have been a class rep in the student council for 3 years now.

I was on our school’s varsity track and field, and basketball team. I received first and second place in track and field categories at international track meets. My basketball team won 4th place in an international basketball tournament as well. I’m also a national golf player too.

I’m still working on my essays, but I’ve got a general idea of what I will write.

Please chance me! I’m looking to apply to super competitive schools, UPENN, Princeton, and Georgetown as my top picks.

LOOOLOL

I just realized how many grammatical mistakes I made. BEFORE PREP school, not post! U.S citizen in the first paragraph. I rewrote the whole thing three times and you can tell i got annoyed the third time. CC kept flagging them for some odd reason.

You have a strong profile, but a reach is still a reach, So UPenn is a high reach, Georgetown is a reach, and Princeton is a lottery ticket.
However, you are as competitive as any high stats applicant without major national/international awards. That means that you match about 50% of all accepted applicants, but, unfortunately, you also match about 20%-30% of all applicants.

PS. My wife spent a couple of weeks in Yerevan before she immigrated to Israel, way back when, and really enjoyed her time there (she’s from Lithuania).

@MWolf
That’s amazing! We love it here!

Do you think it hurts my chances that I don’t have any nation/international awards?
