SO, HERE IS THE LIST OF COLLEGES THAT I WANT TO APPLY TO.....

SUPERRRRR REACH

Harvard
Princeton
Yale
UChicago

REACH

UPENN( ED??/LEGACY)
Cornell
Brown
Northwestern
Dartmouth

Target

Georgetown -(I think this two should go to "reach" list...but...)
Vanderblit /
Tufts

Likely

Boston University
Northeastern

BUT, THE PROBLEM HERE IS THAT I AM AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT/ FEMALE ASIAN WHO GOES TO HIGH SCHOOL IN THE U.S., WHO NEEDS FINANCIAL AID.....
SO....YES...THAT IS WHY I AM FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW....

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I HAVE ANY CHANCE IN THOSE SCHOOLS AND IF I WILL AT LEAST GET INTO MY MATCH SCHOOL......

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

Didn’t you already do this thread?

Yeah But I have “Revised” certain stuffs and changed my college list… I wanted to get some more feedbacks…

Is there anything wrong with it??

You go to school here but you’re officially an international student? Even though you have legacy advantage at Penn, the need for aid may nullify that. What’s your logical dream school? If it’s Vandy/Georgetown, I think you have a strong shot at those schools with your stats and ECs.

My mom recently graduated from Penn, so I am here in the states as a “dependent” of my mom, thus, an international student without a U.S. citizenship or green card.
Well, I mean, my “dream” school has always been Yale… but you know, it is very unrealistic…
Anyway, I do not have any “favorites” in particular,… I would be thankful if I get into any of the “reach” schools… really… :)

You have just as high a chance at all your SUPERRRRR REACH’s as does any other international applicant. Congrats on being so awesome ;)

Good luck! :)

At your target schools you have a good chance and legacy does help for UPenn although I don’t know how much. Yeah, as said before the super reaches and reaches could be one category sat they are all mostly a crapshoot. I think you have a competitive chance at all your reaches, good luck! Chance? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1544121-chance-duke-ed.html</a></p>

Nothing wrong with that, I was just making sure I wasn’t seeing double. Anyways. It looks like your breakdown is pretty accurate. I think penn ED with the legacy would move it to a low reach, but you never know it could go either way. Best of luck!

Your Sat’s so far are good, 2350+ would obviously be even better. Grades are also pretty good for a competitive high school. Your music related extracurricular awards seem phenomenal, as does your involvement with the fundraising. The international/financial aid aspects won’t help your case, but because of your unique situation and ec’s, I’m sure you’ll be fine. You should be in good shape to get into a couple of your reaches, and maybe a super reach.

Chance back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1543850-early-action-princeton-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Thank you for the kind reply, everyone!
I really appreciate it…
I was just worried I had way too many “Reach” schools. I cannot narrow it down to 3-4 “Reach” schools like anyone else…

ALSO, MY PLAN FOR ED IS EITHER

1) UPENN ED/ UCHICAGO EA
2) CORNELL ED/ UCHICAGO EA

I am going to check again if I can apply Upenn ED and apply to UCHICAGO EA.
But, do I have any chance???

Legacies are twice as likely as a normal person to get into Penn ED, so I would go with that. It’s still a reach but it’s a reach for anyone - you’re very qualified.

Thank you! I am just afraid to apply ED to Penn because Penn is unfortunately NEED-AWARE for INTERNATIONAL students… too bad…
So I think my financial situation would “nullify” my legacy status… :(

That is why my guidance counselor is so against applying ED to Penn…
but my parents want me to apply ED to Penn…

What would YOU do if you were me??just curious…

Cornell ED has a much better acceptance rate overall, so likely the same for international students. That being said, pick which school you like better overall. But Cornell just might be easier to get into, depending on your major!

^Smarty, he did mention he has a Penn legacy. If we’re simply going by numbers, the ED rate for Penn legacies is higher than the ED rate for a normal, unhooked Cornell applicant.

yeah but with financial situations…upenn is need-aware to internationals whereas Cornell is need-blind to international ( even though it does not guarantee to meet full-needs)
I won’t go into personal details, but I really need “full-ride” …
So it’s hard to not think of financial situations…

bumpppppppppppppp :)

I think you are as competitive as anyone for all of your reaches. And the legacy should help you. Good job!

chance me?
