Chance Me: Lawrenceville?

Hi there, this is my first time posting. I am an 8th grade who goes to a private school and is looking to apply to Lawrenceville. I'm just looking for another one's opinion if I have any chance at getting in:

Science: A
Art: A+

SSAT Scores:

Total: 99th percentile

Extracurriculars/ Awards:
Art: Named Best Artist in the 7th grade (local art competition), Colorful Wonderful World Contest honorable mention (international around 350,000 submissions), 2nd place magazine cover contest, got into the chronicle of the horse selected gallery contest, selected to covers for school journals and newspaper.

English: (Lol, don't worry I know it's not an extracurricular activity:)) Gold key in Scholastic's Art and Writing Competition, selected for school's writing magazine.

Piano: Passed 7th level of ABRSM professional piano exam BACKGROUND: There are 8 levels to becoming a professional pianist for these exams, just have one more to go, Won 2nd place twice in local piano competition, took part in school chamber music for three years, played at Carnegie Hall three times, selected for school master class, have been playing for eight years.

I think that my recommendations will be pretty good as well. I know that there are so many students out there looking for a spot at Lawrenceville and the percent of acceptance is pretty low, but I just wanted to know if I have a shot at getting in. This is the only school that I am applying to, since I am pretty content at my current school; however, deep down I know that this school holds more opportunities for me and is just better academically overall. Thank you so much!:)

i think u have a great chance of getting accepted 90%. Although, academic extra curriculars would b nice although its to late now. Plus its hard to really know till after ssats and interviews
good luck

Thanks so much for your input eve7689; it really means a lot. I just wanted to mention that I am apart of the middle school paper, am leader of the Spanish club, was selected as a homework helper, and am on the yearbook committee! Also, for math, I am in honors algebra (the highest class offered at my school.). Thanks!:)

Hey! I’m not applying to Lawrenceville, but seems like you’re a rather strong candidate for any school  Well rounded, actively involved, good grades, musically successful/talented…
Seems that you have decent extracurriculars too. :)

Best of luck!

Thanks so much for your opinion Myshakeful. I hope all goes well for the schools that you are applying to!

Just wondering, are the interviews something that could make or break you? Thanks!:)

I don’t think they’re something that can make or break you, really, but I believe they’re really vital. I don’t think they can break you though, if you have a super strong application, but if it definitely helps a lot to have a good interview, because it’d strengthen your application as a whole and make you a stronger candidate.

Thanks for your thoughts!:)

Hi there, I just came back from my interview, and I thought that it did go well. I showed her my art and writing portfolio and she had told me that she had already given it to the head of the art department. I thought that I answered the questions right well. She then proceeded to tell my parents during their interview that I was very bright, articulate, and seemed to have done my “homework” for the school. Do you think that every interviewer says this about every candidate???
