Chance me LSA!

Before someone says uses the chances thread, I have tried, but no one has replied. =( I am extremely paranoid at this point, UM is my dream school. I'm at MSU if I don't get in.

[ *] College (LSA, engineering, etc.): LSA
[ *] SAT: Not taken
[ *] SAT IIs (if sent): N/A
[ *] ACT: 30 (E: 34 M: 24 S: 27 R: 34
[ *] UM unweighted GPA: 3.84/4.0
[ *] Rank: Top 10 percent (school does not take course load into account for this)
[ *] Other stats: Took Honors English all years, A's the whole time. Took AP World History sophomore year, all A's and a 5, AP Gov junior year with all A's and a 5, and self studied for European and United States history junior year (they weren't offered here because not enough people signed up) and got a 4 and a 5.
[ *] Subjective (ECs, special circumstances, etc):
-Band for all 4 years, I am the newsletter editor this year
-Forensics Impromptu Speaking since Junior year, but won multiple tournaments and came 5th in the state
-Took German for 2 years/Spanish for 2 years (by time of graduation)
-National Honor Society, with many hours of volunteering at the animal shelter and tutoring Junior High students in English
-Almost died at birth, and have many physical therapies as a result, making me have 2 or 3 therapies each week and requiring various exercises at home, taking up tons of time.
[ *] Essays:
-These will be good, if not great.
[ *] Teacher Recs:
-Great.
[ *] Counselor Rec:
-Decent.
[ *] Hook (legacy, recruited athlete, etc.):
-The physical therapy/kythosis stuff maybe? Rebounded from freshman year? (3.64 gpa freshman, 3.96 sophomore, 3.9 junior)
[ *) Location/Person:
Average Mid-Michigan high school
[ *] State or Country:
Michigan (In state!)
[ *] School Type:
Public, with quite a few AP's offered but not actually running due to lack of interest
[ *] Ethnicity:
White
[ *] Gender:
M
[ *] major strength/weakness: All A's in the Honors and AP classes I've taken. I had one B+ in physics Junior year (the other two grades were A minuses) and some C's in Geometry freshman year but the rest of my math grades have been A's since then)
[ *] Other Factors/questions:
Should I emphasize my chronic condition and the resulting therapies that have limited some of what I do timewise? How important is having taken two languages? Do I stand a chance at all?

you should be good, however, there is a SMALL, only a small chance, you could be deferred, but even if you got deferred I think you’d still be accepted in the Regular Round. I’d say 80% chance of acceptance, 20% deferral and 0% rejection chances for EA.

Also, I forgot to mention it there, my senior year schedule contains two AP’s (Lit and Comparative Politics), German II, and Chemistry, and the required Economics course(s). My course rigor looked pretty decent, then, I think…not that it matters for EA I guess?

Actually, I feel like you will def. be accepted. I didn’t read that closely the first time, your ECs/personal story is amazing.

EC’s matter as does race and economic situation. Given last year I would say 60/40 or so, not a slam dunk. My son had slightly better scores, slightly lower grades in AP and honors classes (2 years in an IB school) and did not get it. He had a less impressive EC’s (but was a 3rd generation legacy) which I think will put you over the top. If you don’t get in, keep trying if it is your dream, don’t settle for MSU.
