So yeah, I'm looking for any advice you can give me! I imagine it will be a difficult transition during my senior year, but my dad's work is more important. Plus, the chances for an in-state resident will increase at UMaryland. Anybody who has been accepted at maryland have any advice? Were my stats close to yours? thx.

First off, I'm just wondering if your projected senior GPA is your GPA for all four years of high school. For now, I'll assume that.

Also, that is a pretty large projected range for the SATs. When you get your real grades, come back here and maybe people will have a more accurate picture when chancing you.

However, with the information provided, I'll do my best.

UMaryland-College Park- Match/High Match
Georgetown- High Match/Low Reach
UPITT- Match
U Rochester- Match
UVA- High Match/Low Reach
Georgia Tech- High Match/Low Reach

As a recommendation, I would say go for leadership positions. Try for capitan on the track team and why not ask to become a leader in some of your clubs? Also, student government, if your school has it, it a HUGE plus in college admissions. However, I see that you will be new in your school next year, so that may not work out.

Take the SAT and ACT as many times as you can, and work hard in school. (Except for the last semester of senior year, you can take it a bit easier then.)

Best of luck to you, and if you have any questions, PM me.
Tim

Thank you guys for your comments! Yeah... I should have taken the March SATs and gotten some scores, but the state of Maine pays for all juniors to take the May exam.

hey, where are you from in Maine, I'm a senior @ Cape Elizabeth and Georgia Tech is my #1 choice. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask.
