I have not taken my sat yet but im expecting A score of 2100.

You could have posted that as a comment lol, but still realistically you don’t have a chance at any of these schools, people love to take on that “shoot for the stars” attitude, but this isn’t a game here, its your life.

Also again how much money do your parents have? Can you even afford to attend any of these schools? I think chances are if you get did in (which is insanely unlikely to be honest, just by looking at your grades) you wouldn’t receive much financial aid.

Can you tell me why you are applying to each of these schools, aside from prestige? What similarities do MIT and Dartmouth share?

where do you think i might have a chance?

Why do you want to go to school? What are you interested in?

my parents cannot afford it, but they say the aid is need based!
so my scores dont matter ryt?(for aid)

well, i am an inventor. i build stuff. i wanna go to a place where i can do better at that. i wanna go to school which will help me build/invent more.

P.S, i think i am capable of getting a perfect in the sat subjects test. will that change anything?

Ok suppose you can afford going to all of these schools, the reality is you probably wont get into a single one. Have you thought about what you will do if you get rejected from all these schools? Also SAT subject tests? What about these, they are required for all the schools you mentioned, two of them in fact.

i mean i can score very well in them! the SAT subject.

Actually, These schools(except Cornell) are need blind for internationals. Simply put, this means that if you get in MIT or Harvard, you will get full aid based on ur demonstrated need. If u cant pay anything, theyll give u everything.
But the problem is to get in! While ur inventions are sure to attract attention, you need to make sure to have a good sat score, great essay and good recs to be able to get in. Plus, these colleges also require two sat subject tests… Check their websites…
Goodluck

@boby642: Grades in India are not similar to grades in the US. I believe a 60%+ is considered to be equivalent to an “A”.

^ If this is true, then disregard my previous comments, but a 2100 is still low for most of these schools.

So, there is a chance if i get good SAT scores?
none of the universities in my country consider ECs.
it purely based on merit and the exams are hard. at this moment I cant concentrate on both. if i am aiming at foreign i have to give up my possibilities in the local ones. so, my question is is it worth the risk i’m taking. if these universities are out of reach. to which universities should i apply? or can i still keep my hopes with these universities?

I think you can get into these universities, just aim at getting 2200+ on the SAT, You’ll be fine. Don’t let people bring you down

^ Dreamchaser, this isn’t a game it’s his life, you won’t be there if he gets rejected from all these schools, so don’t post useless inspirational jargon.

Charlee, I would wait till someone with more experience in regards to you’re particular situation can comment, based on some of the previous posts I don’t think I can confidently comment on your situation as of now. So disregard anything I said and just wait for someone with more experience, though as a general rule of thumb I would take everything anyone here says with a grain of salt (myself included).

[Admissions Statistics | MIT Admissions](Admissions statistics | MIT Admissions)
this says that they have addmitted considerable number of people with low scores.
as in 650 in each subject. but i can do a little better than that, say close to 700 in writing 650 in reading and something very close to 800 or 800 itself.

i don’t know the equivalent grade in the us for given percentage in india. But i have herd from many sources that something like 20% should be added to the Indian score get the score in the US standards. this is because most of the stuff in phy, chem, and math done in the freshmen year in college is done is high school itself.
