Please chance me and tell me which colleges are Reach/Match/Safety schools!!

Your numerical stats are flawless. applauds
However, your ECs are a bit lacking. For one, “academic team” is very vague. If you expand on that (e.g. quiz bowl team, science olympiad team, etc.), I’m sure that it’s a very impressive accomplishment. FIRST is a very cool competition, and many of my friends participate in it. However, it is so widespread that unless you made the superregional tournament/international tournament, it wouldn’t be as impressive. As for the USNCO, there is no such thing as a “state finalist.” The different levels of competition are Competitor (Took Local Exam) < National Finalist (Took National Exam, top 1000) < Team Alpha Zeta/Eta/Theta (Went to Study Camp, top 20) < International Team Member (Went to the IChO, top 4). In your case, I’m pretty sure you’re referring to National Finalist, which is good, since it sounds even more impressive than state finalist!

Anyway, on to the moment you’ve been waiting for:
MIT: Reach
Princeton: Reach
Cornell: Reach/High-match
Berkeley: Match
Duke: ???
Rice: ???
Georgia Tech: Match
University of Florida: Safety

My advice would be to give careful consideration to your ED / SCEA / EA strategy. You have won awards at state and national levels so I don’t agree with Naruhodou that your ECs are a liability. a couple more true reaches might not hurt. Consider Rice, Stanford and Franklin Olin

I am not sure how legitimate of the candidate you are, subjects such as IB Pre-Calculus/Calculus don’t exist. Also, IB is a 2 year course, but you never seemed to have taken a course for more than a year.

Your course load is EXTREME!
Your scores are AMAZING!
Your GPA is PERFECT!
Your AP Scores are really good!
I could go on and on…

If you slightly better your test scores, and have more EC’s , then I would say you have a pretty good chance to get into Ivies and Stanford, MIT, Caltech, Berkely

I think your chances are very good. given your rigor course load along with many clubs and volunteer work I think you have a good chance. You sure strand out from the rest of the applicant pool.
Can you chance me at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1793483-chance-me-for-my-schools.html

You are definitely a good candidate for all these schools (unfortunately-that’s never enough)
MIT (Considering EA): Reach
Princeton (Considering SCEA): Reach
Cornell (Considering ED): Match
UCBerkeley: Match/High match
Duke: Low reach
Rice: Match/High match
Georgia Tech: Match
University of Florida: Helluva safety

MIT (Considering EA): Reach
Princeton (Considering SCEA): Reach
Cornell (Considering ED): Match
UCBerkeley: Match
Duke: Low reach
Rice: Match
Georgia Tech: Low Match
University of Florida: Super Safety
Main reason I put the reaches on here is because they’re reaches for anyone due to the fact that they can’t accept all of their well qualified applicants.

Your scores are very impressive and your GPA/extracurricular show that you work hard and are involved! It looks like you have a pretty decent chance of getting in to those schools, which is usually only slim at best. Of course I don’t really have any idea what I’m talking about because I’m just in the same boat as you.

Hey, academics wise, your scores are top notch and good enough for admission at all of the schools you mentioned. Because you are applying for Comp Sci, aim for high 700s-800 in your SAT subject tests and that will further solidify you as a solid applicant. As for your extracurriculars, they seem to be pretty good, but make sure that your essays to those schools position you as unique and why that school’s Comp Sci program is good for you. It doesn’t help being in the Asian boat ( :frowning: im in it too).

@Hiiamint Everyone in my IB class refers to Precal Honors as IB Pre-Calculus and IB Math SL as IB Calculus for some reason. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Also, Physics/English/Spanish are my HLs and Chemistry/History/Math are my SLs. I took my HLs this past year and am taking it again my senior year. Since my IB Physics HL classmates all took the AP exam, we just referred to the class as AP Physics 1.

The UC’s require the A-G requirements. Requirement #F is 1 full year course in visual/performing arts but that has recently changed to 1 semester. One year, however is preferred. Without completion of this, Berkeley is not an option.

This is one of those threads that just makes me cringe. It’s a thread of people sitting around stroking the OP’s back hoping that she’ll return the favor. High school students chancing high school students is a recipe for disaster. Each post on this thread is more ignorant than the next.

The OP has good quant. stats. Her EC’s and Awards however, are not particularly impressive for any Ivy/MIT adcom. What differentiates her?
