I would like to know weather I am most likely to get a CAP or not. (If I get CAP'd, should I take it?)

i do not think you will be accepted…most likely going to get capped. its basically a combination of your SAT score and class rank that puts you at a disadvantage. have you taken the ACT?

I think anyone instate that does not get admitted is offered the CAP program. From that point, your fate is in your own hands. Attend another UT campus (except UT Dallas), make a 3.2 GPA your first year and your transfer to UT Austin is guaranteed!

If you want to go to UT, YES it is worth it. If you have a problem getting a 3.2, at UTSA for instance, than UT is NOT for you. UTSA is crazy easy compared to UT. UT tests are HARD, you may think you know the material…but…you don’t know as much as you think ;)

But yeah, I know it might be “embarrassing” to go to UTSA/UTEP/Whatever for a year, but it’s worth it. It is also a good chance to get a really good GPA and get into the college of your choice! Way easier than internally transferring at UT, especially with the new plus/minus system in place.
