Hello,
I am a junior currently attending high school. I have a 3.0 unweighted GPA. Weighted GPA of a 3.45. I have currently taken 6 AP classes and the rest honors. I am Hispanic and will be the first in my family to go to a four year institution. I plan on majoring in biology and becoming a pre med with aspiration of becoming a doctor later in life. I speak and write both English and Spanish fluently. I have work experience at Starbucks and had an internship at the National Institute of Health during the summer. I have played baseball the first 2 years and plan to play my last two years of high school. I have been part of the Green Team at my high school; and have currently 315 community service hours with helping teachers throughout the school. Any advice for my senior year of high school next year. NYU is my dream school (CAS). Is there anything else I can do? Thanks

You need to raise your GPA to be a good candidate. The average GPA at NYU CAS is around 3.65+. With such a low GPA, I don’t think you’ll get in.

Sorry. I’d have to say that you’ll probably be rejected unless you have something special that compensates for your low GPA. I have a 2040 super-scored SAT, a 30 ACT, and a 3.57 unweighted, and I’m worried about getting in myself.

The NYU UW GPA is 3.65. For CAS it’s around a 3.7 and for Stern around a 3.75. You really need to raise your GPA to be considered a competitive applicant.
