I want to apply to NYU Tandon and want to see if my stats are good enough, here they are!

32 ACT

3.5 GPA (weighted)

EC’s involve:

soccer for club outside of school
varsity track ( One of the captains of the Sprinting team)
volunteering at multiple places (over 100 hours)
internship at tax payers company
brother and I made photography company in which marketing and establishing sales is my job
summer job at Dunkin Doughnuts

Highest level of math ap calc bc

Ap’s include

AP Micro
AP calc ab
AP calc bc
AP stat
AP Comsci A

4’s in all

Part of the business club and part of JSA
Played the cello since 4th grade and am part of county orchestras. (second chair idk if that matters)
Was in philharmonic and toured to Finland and Italy for concerts. Won multiple competitions with school orchestra.

What is your unweighted gpa? Most of the application looks in range for Tandon, but an unweighted gpa presumably somewhere below 3.5 will be a weak point.

Yes it it about a 3.3 ish which is one of my weaks

Typical unweighted gpa for entering students at NYU is 3.7, so yeah it’s a bit low, even for a school with grade deflation (somewhat implied by your standardized test scores being quite a bit higher than one might usually expect with a 3.3 gpa). I’d apply if I were you but treat it as a reach, and make sure you apply to matches and safeties too.

I just had a bad selection of classes in freshman year, but my graph of gpa is an upwards trend and I am ending with a 3.8 weighted and 4.2 unweighted for junior year. Will they take this into consideration?
