I am a current senior in high school with a GPA of 3.917 and an ACT composite score of 21, but I just retested and I think I did better, but I have not received those scores yet. I am also very active within my school because I have been a part of many school organizations and teams. I’m also the president of the National Honors Society so I do a lot of community service. I have applied to the Ohio State University and I am an in-state resident. Can someone please tell me if they think I have a chance of getting into the university?
ur good
The bottom 6% of enrolled students had ACT scores in the range of 18-23, and the percentage of admitted students in that range would be even lower. So a 21 is likely to put you in the bottom 3-4% of accepted students (and many of the students in that range are likely to be recruited athletes or have other significant hooks). The middle 50% is 27-31, so you want to aim at least for that range.
If your new score is below a 27 your chances will be a stretch. Good luck!
I know two people who got into Ohio State with a 22 and a 17. You wont get into the honors program. But after your first semester you can reapply to the honors program.
@Corraleno would writing a really good essay about moving to America and how it has affected me be a “hook”?
My ACT is a 24 and I have a 3.8 W GPA
