Chance me= older student music transfer 2020-2021

Hey guys! I’m taking a plunge and applying to transfer to Vanderbilt for next fall. I’m not too optimistic about my chances (GPA really took a dive after I went to college, I ended up having to leave twice for severe mental health issues), but wanted to see what others think. I believe I’d still be a freshman credit-wise, but not entirely sure. My stats aren’t great comparatively, but I would be applying to the music school for performance with a musicology emphasis- although, Vanderbilt is Vanderbilt. I’m including high school stats since there isn’t much college activity due to my leaving. Also, I’m 21 if it matters.

High School:
-3.8 GPA (unweighted, my school didn’t do weighted)
-31 ACT
-8 AP Subjects= 2 2’s, 1 3, 2 4’s, 3 5’s, (I took AP Music Theory and got a 4, that’s probably the most important one to mention)
-National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta
-Midstate and Allstate every year (violin)
-Governor’s School for the Arts (voice)
-Blair’s precollege orchestra program (I’m actually from Nashville)
-Lead roles in school musicals, a couple of articles written about me on broadway world
-Recording studio work, mostly musicals and choral work

College:
Univ. of Miami
-3.3 GPA (I know…withdrawing really kills your GPA, same with depression…)
-LGBT Student Group
-Job on campus
-Acapella group
-Continued to play in the school orchestra, though I was a voice principle

Currently, I’m just working until I can go back to school. I work at a performance venue, and still do voice work on the side in the area, so I’m at least still doing music-related things. I’m really struggling with how to frame my application; should I focus on high school things since they would probably be most applicable to Vanderbilt? It feels weird focusing on things that happened 2-3 years ago, but I’m not sure what to do. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for reading this far!
