Transfer chances to Vandy (Blair school of music)

I know a good deal of admissions fro vanderbilt is contingent upon academics, but i also know taht if you are a proposed music major, the audition counts for a large amount of your admissions decision as well.

Just wondering if I have what it takes as a transfer (maybe)

Well, first off, I'm at Tulane University, first semester freshman taking off next semester possibly.

So, I would only have 16 credits to transfer

Mid-term gpa (all grades so far): 3.85

High school gpa: 3.7UW/3.98W (that is the last quarter of senior year gpa)
Jr. year gpa was 4.07W

SAT: 570R/600M/690W

Rank: 12-15% in H.S.

Large range of extracurriculars (like apprenticeship w/pittsburgh opera, j]r. mendlessohn choir, national honors, founded social action committee, blah blah.)

Unfortunately, i took subject tests...that didn't go well (500s in all)

Just wondering! I heard tulane and vandy are similar in terms of difficulty to get into?!?

Jeremybeach - you might want to post this in the Vanderbilt forum.

In a conversation with one of the Deans at the Blair School of Music I was told that if a student auditioned and they decided they wanted to admit that student the admission process was two fold. To receive a letter of acceptance from Blair not only did a student have to be accepted on the basis of their audition, but they had to meet Vanderbilt's academic standards as well - which means SAT and GPA.

Hope this information helps.
