I'm applying to the University of Rhode Island, University of Massachusetts Amherst, University of New Hampshire, Salve Regina University, Suffolk University and Johnson & Wales University.

I'm applying early action to all except JWU, which doesn't have anything except for regular decision. It's my safety school. uMass is my first choice right now.

Weighted GPA: 2.82/5.5

Rank: 291/362

SAT:
Math - 680
CR - 560

Writing - 610

= 1850/2400 | 1240/1600

Massachusetts Resident. My high school is very well regarded academically.

First quarter grades:

Modern Lit (CP) - B/B+

Next semester I take Journalism (CP), Law and Society (H), and Cooking to replace my current semester classes.

The AP Psych class is the only AP I've ever taken.
I have three solid letters of recommendation and a good essay. I accidentally submitted the wrong essay the first time and I called all the colleges promptly and switched them out so hopefully that doesn't hurt me.

ECs: I've done at least two sports every year, chorus and mens chorus, tri m music honors society, the school paper, managed a garage band, student council and some random other clubs.

CC: I've done one walk for cancer, the YMCA CC group, musical community service, and library work.

Work: I've had 6 jobs in high school. All at a few months each. 3 I'm currently employed at, but one is seasonal and offseason currently.

I'm likely going to apply undeclared but my interests are Psych and Law related studies.

If you chance me and would like me to chance you back, just post the link with your post.

I’m not sure about the other schools but I think everything is too low for UMass.

I have a thread posted to chance me for UGA and GA Tech if you know anything about those schools.

Not 100% sure about state schools over in the Northeast but I know your SAT is definitely good for state schools here in California. Your GPA is fine as well.

your SAT is pretty good and you have strong extracurriculars.
i’d say you have a decent shot at URI, a good shot at umass because youre instate (even if the scores are low for them), and i’m not sure about the others. good luck!

Update: Deferred from URI.
Accepted to JWU.

I would say the following:
URI-I’d say it’s on the edge.
University of Massachusetts Amherst- slight reach (has become a lot more competitive)
University of New Hampshire- fair chance though I’d say if you haven’t heard by now you might be deferred because I know they already sent out EA acceptance letters)
Salve Regina University- good chance
Suffolk University- good chance
Johnson & Wales University- obviously accepted considering you were

chance me on my most recent thread?

So I was deffered by all 5 besides JWU which was a acceptance. Would writing a letter to my number one be a good idea?
