You have a great shot at all of those schools with the exception of Brown and maybe Cornell. Your GPA is strong, and ECs look terrific. However, your SAT needs to improve to have a legitimately good shot at the Ivies. Also, try to improve your SAT2s and try to score in the mid to high 700s.

Georgetown- match
UCLA- high match/ low reach
Berkeley- high match
UCI/UCSD (backup)- safety/high safety
USC- match
Brown- mid reach
Cornell- better than brown, but still a mid reach reach

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1166769-sats-so-chance-me.html

can anyone else input please?

I agree with Balling. You should improve your SATI and SATIIs a bit, trying to score at least 750+ on each SAT II (with the exception of Math II, which you should get 800), and an SAT of at least 2250 if not higher.
Georgetown - ~50% You have good SATs and grades, but Georgetown is really selective.
UCLA - most likely in. You’re Californian and have stats well above UCLA’s norm.
Berkeley - same as above (80+%)
UCI/UCSD - The first one is a really, really low safety (~100%), while the latter is almost guaranteed as well (90+%)
USC - I would say in as well, with a possibility of a half or full scholarship.
Brown - high reach (15% chance). I would say you have a higher chance than the average applicant.
Cornell - I would say a low to mid reach, especially if not ED. If you have a legacy there, you’re in.

ED Johns Hopkins: You’ll most likely get in (60+%).

Chance me back please?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1168046-thread-has-interesting-title-ill-chance-back.html

you’ll get in ED to Johns Hopkins most likely. I can’t think of any reason why they’d reject you. you therefore don’t need to worry about the rest of the colleges you listed b/c it is binding. good luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1168613-chances-congressional-page-columbia-ed-will-chance-back.html
chance back

I think you have a solid shot at all of those schools… Since its really competitive though, I say get your SAT scores a little bit more. Do you have any idea what you want to major in yet?

I ask that because if your apply to Hopkins for their Med program, then you may need to get the standardized scores up a bit. Other than that, you have a good chance at all of those schools.

Chance Me! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1170302-chance-rising-senior-syracuse-newhouse-early-decision.html

i want to apply as a bio and public health double major with a minor in philosophy. i do feel a little confident that i will get into ed at jhu. i have great recommendations line ups and i have brainstormed the past few weeks on my personal essay about my maturity this year and finding the meaningful insight on life that i have been missing. it has been truly a year growth and i will also integrate my essay with extracurricular s that have really made me the person i am today

and yes i am aiming on that premed track, i just hope that the sat ii’s wont really hurt me since i heard that some people do horribly but still get into that major. i dont really know how much they weigh subject tests

I love the passion your show for science that comes across in your research. Bravo!
Your GPA and class rank are strong, but I would retake the SAT subject tests to get 750+. Hopkins would be great for your med dreams. Best of luck! =)

Excellent ECs and decent stats! With current stats…
Georgetown—high match
UCLA—match
Berkeley—match
UCI/UCSD (backup)—safety
USC—safety
Brown—reach
Cornell—low reach

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1169583-chance-nervous-senior-will-chance-back.html

thanks! im not sure how the financial aid and grant will work at jhu. i heard that they do not do need-based but i hope to receive one of their merit based scholarships. if worse comes to worse, ill take out some loans but i just want to think about getting in! haha…

the ivies are high matches or low reaches, and you’re in at the rest. Your stats are great

Your SAT is good, your EC’s are good. Your subject tests and ap scores are fair, but leave something to be desired… I would say you have a solid fighting chance if you apply early decision to JHU! You should have a good chance to get into the others; brown, cornell, georgetown will be tough, but like I said your SAT I/ACT is high enough, you should get in at least 1 maybe 2 of those three. you just never know! Chance back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1171011-ap-scores-need-chances-duke-emory-georgetown.html

You have amazing awards and extracurriculars! Your subject tests could be a little higher, but your SAT and ACT scores are great. Brown might be tough to get into but I think you have a solid chance at JHU!

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1171974-chances-cornell-other-colleges.html

GREAT EC’S. nice gpa, pretty good test scores,
apply ED and you’ll have an even better chance.

chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1172136-chance-top-schools.html
thanks in advance

how badly will it hurt my chances if my subject subject scores are fair?

I would focus on increasing your SAT or your ACT. Don’t try to juggle both and jeopardize a high score on one for two mediocre score. Although personally, I think your standardized testing really isn’t that awful as of right now…in fact…one might say it’s good. Haha. Ohh wait, we’re on CC…

ED Johns Hopkins-low reach/high match (I think you’re in)
Georgetown-match
UCLA-match
Berkeley-high match
UCI/UCSD (backup)-safety
USC-match
Brown-mid reach
Cornell-mid reach

and I honestly wouldn’t stress over raising that ACT score. Its already a 33 and the time you spend trying to raise it 1-3 points could probably be much better spent working on those all-important essays. Just a suggestion. Great ECs.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1176601-chance-me-vandy-duke-ill-chance-back-2.html

ED Johns Hopkins - probably gonna be accepted!
Georgetown—high match
UCLA—match
Berkeley—match
UCI/UCSD—safety
USC—safety
Brown—reach
Cornell—low reach

Wonderful ec’s, and your gpa is strong! Just work to get your SAT score up a little, then definitely you’ll have a better shot in getting into johns hopkins!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1180740-way-too-early-but-im-curious-chance-please.html

JHU ED - High match
Georgetown - High match
UCLA - Low match
Berkeley - Match
UCI/UCSD (backup) - Safety
USC - Match
Brown - Reach
Cornell - Low Reach/high match

I think you have a good shot ;)
