Hello everyone,
First off, I am new to the website and still getting used to the layout. I created this discussion because I would like to get other peoples opinions and insights about my possibility at UMN. I applied for the Fall 2018 Nursing program as a transfer student, so I’m affiliated with the Twin-cities campus but I will attend classes on the Rochestor campus. I submitted my application during the last week of January, before the February 1st deadline.
Stats:
A 2nd-year college student in a Pre-Nursing Program at the University of Hawaii.
4.0 GPA, completed 40 Credits. I will have all prerequisites upon completion of this current spring semester; except for general chemistry, but I will be taking it during the summer before the fall semester (which is allowed).
Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society & Dean’s List
A volunteer at my local hospital where I shadow registered nurses and help with patients. Also, a volunteer with a local organization that helps to take care of special needs kids.
Adult & Pediatric CPR, AED, and First Aid Certified.
Fall 2017 Transfer Nursing admissions statistics (according to UMN website):
111 total transfer
33 admitted
Avg GPA: 3.61
75% Women, 25% Men
(I'm a male if that influences anything)
How are my chances? I know it’s only the 15th of February (its only been 14 days since their deadline passed), but I am eager to know my fate. Any comments, advice or feedback is appreciated. Thank you!
