Chance me please? A bit long, but still? Thanks :)

Thanks, everyone! @sarah_2, what about USC? (my first choice school, by far)

I’m not that familiar with USC, but I’m sure it’s within reach.

Your UW GPA isn’t bad at all–it’s the weighted that might pose a problem. Obviously I don’t know your school and how your curriculum compares to others’, but rigor is /very/ important to the top schools. Just try to keep that in mind.

(Of course, it’s all in context of your school anyway, so.)

My school is 25th in state, 1st in district…good enough? Haha -_-

Not quite what I meant. :>

What I probably should have said is: is your curriculum considered difficult at your school (especially relative to others’)? To be honest, it’s not really THAT unusual for kids to take precalc in sophomore year or have 5-6 AP classes, and many kids who are applying to top colleges will have stats like that. So rigor could be a problem, yes.

…but at the same time you don’t want to kill yourself taking classes you aren’t prepared for, because that probably looks worse. Keep your grades up, challenge yourself, all of that cliche stuff, and I think you have a decent shot at at least some of these schools.

I’m in the same boat at my school (3rd graduating class) and the thing I’ve been told time and time again is take advantage of what you are offered. admissions officers will be able to compare your schedule to the courses that were offered, so your focus right now should be strong standardized test scores and getting excellent grades.

Your extracurriculars are pretty standard, so maybe you should focus on showing excellence and leadership in at least one that really grabs your interest.
the volunteering at a jail is a unique idea, and could possibly be formed into a strong essay.

chance me back, please?

-University of Southern California: match, probably in
-Northwestern University: low reach
-UC Berkeley, LA, San Diego, Irvine, Davis: Berkely & la=low reach, In: Davis, SD, Irvine
-Syracuse University: definitely in, aim higher
-NYU: match, most likely in

It all depends on your next year and your SAT scores.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/735819-i-cant-believe-im-actually-doing-but.html

while ill be honest i dont think you have the greatest course load ever, helping kids in the jail was really sweet hahahah. just for SAT’s + that i would say…
UC’s -in besides Berkley (there slightly weird <3)
Syracuse - In
USC - Match
NYU/Northwestern High Match –> Low Reach
but remember you have a whole nother year + change
Please chance back! =)

School rank isn’t great, but everything else looks good! All matches, except maybe reaches for Berkeley or NW.
