I am a senior this year and am applying to NU probably 1st choice although I have yet to visit so applying EA might not be a good idea. I don't want to be trapped, if I don't like campus. Anyway, here are my stats:

87 gpa W (only 1 AP, 2 H and a college math course, which doen't have any weight)
1210/1830 sat (I'm retaking the sat... if I can raise my CR to a 650+, I'll have a 1300 which is my goal)
Top 40% of my class with 500 people
4 years of school soccer (more but I think I'm only supposed to count grades 9-12)
4 years of club soccer (more but I think I'm only supposed to count grades 9-12)
Voulenteered at the local hospital (and still do)

My gpa for the 1st quarter of my senior year is around 96 UW, with 4 APs, and another college course. The only "regular" class I'm taking is economics and that is because it is a requirement, and no AP Economics offered. The reason that my gpa is so high now (compared to 87) is because I never really thought about college until the 2nd half of my junior year. And now that work ethic is carrying over to this year. I'm not sure how that will look, some might suggest that it's a good upward trend while others may say, it looks like I'm just lazy.

Please be honest if you decide to reply.. thank you.. I don't think I have much of a chance do to my gpa..

Your chances are much better if you apply Early Action. Northeastern does NOT lock you in, so you are still free to go somewhere else. The admission rate for early action is around 50%, but it drops to 30% for regular admissions. Your grades and score are borderline, so I think you have a chance, depending on your extracurricular activities, leadership, etc.

So I have 1 week to do this. And btw those are pretty much my only extracurricular activities. School soccer is every day. After the school season, club starts and it is 3-4 times a week so I really don’t have much time for anything else. Maybe a few more small things that are just escaping me right now… but nothing substantial. My letters of rec are good… one of my coaches even asked if they could write me one, without me asking which is awesome.

This week is going to be extremely busy, thanks to you haha…but really thanks, I thought that EA was binding.

I was at an admissions presentation last week. They said as long as you get your application in by Nov. 1, your other documents can arrive a few days late. However, they would like to get everything by Nov. 15.

To add to this… I have since joined the school’s math league, newspaper and gotten a job.

If you have already sent in your app, then you might want to send documented proof of these other activities via mail to Northeastern’s processing center. It certainly wouldn’t hurt, although I am not sure they would get it on time.

I have decided that I would apply RD. It would be unfair of me to tell the people who are writing me recs that instead of them having a little over a month to do them, they have 5 days. Also I am taking the SAT in December again, and I wouldn’t be able to send that unless I applied ED. And I wanted to make my college essay the best that I can,and not rush it. Hopefully applying ED doesn’t ruin my chance at Northeastern because it is one of two schools that I wouldn’t be slightly disappointed if I had to attend.
