Thanks. Any recommendations for good safeties?

You have a great shot at every school on your list. I agree with others: emphasize your URM in the essay. Good Luck!

Hannibalxx, you clearly have little or no experience with young gifted kids; when a kid as smart as silverturtle gets immersed in a subject, he will more often than not understand the subtleties of that material far better than most experts. After glancing through silverturtle’s admissions success guide, I’d have to say I’d take HIS advice over that of the high-priced “consultants.”

^ Thanks for the link!

bump?..

While getting into any given top-ranked college is a reach, I think your record is strong enough that you will get into at least one or two of your choices. Since English is your second language, have someone who is both an excellent copy editor AND a native speaker look over your essays before you send in your application.

^ Any smart kid can pick up information if he’s deeply vested. Though, more likely than not, silverturtle will provide you with better information than most other people on this site, it would be wrong to conclude that his advice is better than that given to you by an expert/professional. It’s their job to give you such advice and if they were giving you bad advice they wouldn’t be making a lot of money at all. Keep in mind that most of those professionals are either ex-admissions officers or have contacts/friends who are admissions officers.

Hmm… Though what you’re saying makes sense, I trust silverturtle’s assessment. Besides, im kind of in a tight spot to be paying for admissions officers/experts or tutors, so I think that the people in this forum would critique well enough. Ofcourse, there are different standards and uninformed chancing, but one has to know who is chancing correctly.

Bump…??

what about HYP? Long shot? High/Middle reach?

Found out my AP scores: 5s in AP English Lang, Chem, US History, and French… That makes 6 5s in total, 2 sophomore year and 4 junior year.
