I'm a junior looking apply to the UC's in the fall, hopefully Cal or UCLA. I attend a public high school in california. I would say my school is fairly competitive, it got a silver medal rating on US news, and most of the top students attend USC, Cal, or UCLA rather than ivies. Its API is around 860 for all of you guys who live in California. My GPA is a 3.75 unweighted and 4.34 weighted (soph and junior years). I'm in the top 5% of my class, 27/620 or around that. A big problem for me is that I got 2 C's sophomore year for an honors trig/pre calc class, how badly will this affect me?? My SAT score is a 2220, 690CR 740 M and 790 W. My ACT is 33 composite. I will have taken 10 AP and 4 honor classes by the end of senior year. I haven't done much for school, I'm just part of the California Scholarship Federation, math club, and junior committee. I've played HS volleyball for 3 years and club volleyball for 2 years thus far. I've attended Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth summer programs since the summer of 8th grade. I'm attending the JHU/Northwestern civic leadership program at Cal this summer. I volunteer at a hospital and an orphanage, where I tutor young girls, weekly. Next fall, I'll be part of a CNA program where I volunteer at an elderly home and shadow nurses. Please chance me/provide feedback!

Any SAT2 and AP scores?

Im taking the US history, chem, and math 2 SATs in june. The only AP I took sophomore year was world history and I got a 5. Should be receiving my scores for the 4 ap tests I took in the past two weeks in July. However, UCLA doesn’t ask for either on its application

Does UCLA really not ask for either anymore?
For SAT2, I might have heard before, but they don’t want AP score now either? They did two classes ago.

Anyways, your weighted GPA won’t hurt you, and your unweighted GPA is probably fine.

i believe sat 2’s and ap’s are both not required, but once you get accepted into the school you have to report ap scores for credit.

I have no idea how a 4.34 could be considered a low gpa… Anyway, actually you’ll be applying through the University of California website, which lets you apply to multiple UC’s if you want, and they definitely have a slot to include your AP scores :).

Um, I think you look golden and super set, but I’m not as good at this chancing thing as others are o:
