I am applying for Materials Engineering, thanks for looking.

also, does UIUC require physics?

I could also be applying for Chem Engineering, would that help my chances?

This year's middle 50% engineering was top 10% to top 2% class rank and 1880 to 2140 SAT. SAT is in range, rank is quite low, you should consider it a reach but still a chance. Engineering requires 3.5 years of math and 2 years of lab science but recommends 4 years of each. Physics is not required but they do like to see it and not having it can be a negative. No different for Chem E (in fact Chem E's middle 50% range is usually a tad higher than engineering as a whole)

what's your unweighted GPA?

your rank could use some work, but i'd say you have a pretty good shot. if you can, maybe retake the SAT/ACT and see if you can really ace it.

isn't it a little to late to retake sat/act?
