Chance me please- Northwestern (ED), USC, UMich, Fordham (GBHP), Babson, Emory

Hey guys,

Here is my info:

Indian male
From Houston, Texas
Family income: $150,000+
Financial aid needed: no

I did my 9th and 10th grade in India and was in the IGCSE program. I got 6 A*s and 2 As in my board exams.
UW GPA: 3.76
W GPA: 5.33/6
Class rank: 44/563 (7.8%)
I would’ve had a higher Weighted GPA but my school district didn’t give me honors/ pre-AP level credits for several courses when I moved to Houston, which deserved honors credits for its rigor.

ACT: 35, 8 essay
Subject SATs: None (How much will this hurt my chances?)
APs: 8 (3 Senior year), US history- 5 Psychology- 4 Physics 2- 3 Human Geo- 2 (lol yeah, funny backstory about that one)

ECs:
Intern at a mobile app development company (10th, 11th, and 12th grade summers) Lead intern in second and third year there
Basketball (9th and 10th) Captain of the team in 10th grade
Published an article about the sharing economy in India (12th)
Volunteer at Blue Cross (9th)
Volunteer Prosecutor at Teen Court (11th and 12th)
Volunteered for Hurricane Harvey relief (12th)
Taught basketball to underprivileged kids at a government school in India (9th and 10th)
Over 300 volunteering hours
DECA- qualified to state competition (11th)
I know my ECs aren’t too great but it’s kinda because I moved in the middle of high school so I couldn’t get too involved at my new school and took a minute to adjust.

Intended major: BBA- marketing (Economics at Northwestern)

Letters of rec-
One from my physics 2 teacher, should be really good, he liked me a lot
One from the founder at the company I interned at, 10/10 I know because he let me read it

Can y’all let me know what you think my chances are at these schools?

Thanks bois

UW GPA could be slightly higher and the lack of SAT subject tests may hurt a little, but your ACT score is right on target and the letters of rec being great will help as well. If you really played up that internship, and schools feel that you were very focused/interested on that, I think you have a decent shot at each school.

NW is just plain difficult to get into, so very few people have a good chance at getting in. UMICH is probably a slightly better bet, but they’re quite stingy on out-of-state applicants. I think it is more likely than not that you get into one of those two.

You should get into at least 1-2 of the other schools with Babson being a low reach. Overall, maybe throw in one more safety if there is another school that you’d be interested in, but your list now isn’t unreasonable.
