<p>Planning to apply to UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCI and UCR. Thinking about going in as an accounting major or maybe even political science. </p>

Very Competitive Public HS. School does not rank.
Born and raised in LA area</p>

Unweighted UC GPA: 3.89</p>

<p>SAT I: 2000 (CR 680, Math 650, W 670 w/12 on essay) planning retake in DEC
SATII: US (780), planning to take IIc in NOV</p>

Junior: USHistory (5), CompSci A (4), EngLang (5), CalcAB(5)
Senior: Chemistry, Statsitics, Comparative Govt</p>

HS Newspaper (2 years, editor for 1)
Student Council Commission (2 years, Treasurer for 1)
Volunteer 100+ hours at hospital
Recycling club(1), spanish club(4), leo club (3)
Work 8 hrs/wk
Every summer i work at a camp for 8 weeks straight, 12 hrs/day</p>

<p>Awards: none really, just the AP Scholar with Honors. does CSF and NHS (9-11) count?</p>

<p>Current Courses: AP Chemistry, AP Comparative Govt, English, AP Statistics, HS Newspaper</p>

<p>My parents limited me to staying California and there isn't enough money to send me to private. I really want to get into Berkeley because I think the environment and its history is incredibly appealing.</p>

<p>You have a strong GPA, okay SAT, average ECs, and somewhat weak honors/awards. I'd say:</p>

<p>Berkeley: slight reach - high match
UCLA: high match
UCSD: match - safe match
UCSB/UCI/UCR: safety</p>

I don't know much about the CAL schools, but from what I do know, I'd say:</p>

<p>Berkeley: slight reach
UCLA: high match
UCSD: safety
UCSB/UCI/UCR: safety</p>
