Hi everybody! This is my first time on the Wellesley Forum! Okay, I got a 2400 on my SAT's but I only have a 3.6 GPA UW. My school does not do class rank (thank god!). I haven't taken any SAT II's yet or the ACT's but I will soon. Right now, I am taking all AP's (with a 4.0 GPA).

Extracurriculars:
Red Cross Club
Founder and Co-President of Animal Volunteer Club
Volunteer at Library
Interfaith Caregivers (assisting the elderly in their homes)
Summer job at ice cream place
Writer for Sex, Etc (teen sexual health magazine)
Etsy Store ( I sell homemade stuff)

My extracurriculars kind of suck since I never really had transportation for any after school activities. I did try my best however.

I'm really proud of my 2400 but really wish I did better in terms of grades. If it helps though, during my junior year which was this year, I got a 4.0 GPA while taking all AP's if that helps. So upward trend.

I am very passionate about this school so that's why I'm worried. If I don't get in, I might die. Just kidding, but I really don't want to settle for any less than Wellesley. Any help?

Kudos on the 2400! I don’t think you need to worry about your GPA, especially when there’s an upward trend
Just focus on writing fantastic essays because that’s the most important part!! Stress your personal qualities and focus on topics that make you YOU.
Good luck!

i think you should be fine! i know that Wellesley has accepted some people with low GPA’s in the past and your SAT score just helps! what did you get on your AP tests? That could help.

i plan to apply ED so that makes me very happy!!! thanks :)

I got a 2350 but a 3.69 weighted! Unweighted, probably 3.3 or 3.4. I wrote good essays, though, and got a likely letter! Just make sure that in whatever you lack, you more than make up for in other areas.

renee- what were your ecs??? They must have been amazingggggg

Hahaha they weren’t; the in, I think, honestly were the essays. Look at my post history, you’ll find a listing of my stats. If you would like me to send you my essays I could do so. If it’s one thing that I’ve learned from CC it’s that you have to keep perspective. I know I am just as intelligent and capable as those who have gotten into these schools in the past, however, I also am very aware that my choices have made my application (not me) weaker than others’. Keeping this security in mind, it is not therefore difficult to understand that if you truly belong at a school, there is more than one way to let that show through. Again, never underestimate the power of an essay, of your uncorrupted voice, in the admissions process.
