Chance me please! stressed

i am trying to decide if i should apply to some safety schools or at least schools that are a low match. i go to a very small private school with a graduating class of 16 in a small town in michigan. because of its size there are very few extracurriculars besides sports, music, drama, nhs, student gov't, and yearbook. between sports, drama, and school i have little free time besides what i get on the weekends, and i want some time for to actually enjoy myself.

sat scores: reading-660, math-650, writing-580, composite-1890.
act scores: writing-28, reading-32, science-30, math-28, composite-30.
gpa: i havent taken any ap or honours courses because my school doesnt offer them because they say all of our classes are intended to be as challenging, which has hurt my gpa. my gpa is a 3.0, and although they arent weighted if it was it would be about a 3.6-3.7.
extracurricular:
-4 years of doing 3 sports year round. was JV captain in one and will be varsity captain for two this year.
-also competive water skiing in the summer, state champ one year and placed other years
-1 year of student gov't
-NJHS freshmen year
-4 years of drama

these are my colleges i have applied to:
-Fordham- really like what i have read, think i can get in
-Loyola Chicago- this is a target school, would love to go here
-University of Michigan (in-state) -a top choice, think i have a decent chance
-Marquette University-not a top choice but wouldnt mind going
-Boston College- this is a big reach but figured why not
-DePauw University
-Hillsdale College (is kinda a fallback right now but dont want to go really)
-College of the Holy Cross - another reach, am probably going to do an alumni interview

colleges still in consideration:
-Syracuse- dont know a whole lot about it but i am confidant i will get in
-drexel university - was thinking about it but decided not, now reconsidering but not sure of admission chances
-depaul- was considering but i visited and didnt like it to much
-wooster- dont know much but i like some of what i have heard
-Loyola Marymount- probably to far from home but maybe i will apply
-University of San Diego- same as LMU
-suggestions would be great, live in michigan and dont want out of state tuition really, so LACs or other private schools. i like catholic schools, especially jesuit. preferablly student body size of 2000-low 10,000s.

forgot to mention but i want a school with a good science department because i probably want to go pre med, but i am considering political science or economics.

Privates will cost as much as OOS publics.

u’ll probably get in UMich.
Boston is just a reach.
Depauw- i think u’ll get in
Sorry i dunno much about the others.

yeah i realize that private schools will cost as much as out of state, but i’m not big on the size of state schools and the in-state tuition of u of m is a big factor in my applying. basically i am willing to pay the extra money for a private school that is 10,000 students or less

anybody know about the others?

i would say that you have a decent shot at Fordham but not great because of your GPA. Did you apply to Fordham EA because if you did i’d say you most likely will get deferred but accepted RD because you showed signs of interest. I am nto sure about the others except I think Syracuse will be a good target school for you.

also i forgot to mention i took a college course at Hillsdale College, but i am not sure of my grade but i know it was a decent/passing grade in one of the more difficult freshmen classes

with fordham do u think it makes any difference that i was able to use the choice application?

I’d say Fordham, Loyola, Syracuse and Drexel are all good matches. If you can raise your SAT score to about a 2000 and above, I’d say you’re pretty much in. Your GPA will hurt you, but considering your circumstances, I don’t think by much.

With the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor right?), I think it’s a match because you’re in state, but I’m not too positive.

Unfortunately, I don’t know much about the other ones.

I live in Wisconsin, but for some reason I can’t recall if Wisconsin and Michigan have the same tuition agreements that Wisconsin and Minnesota have… if they do, then why not consider applying to Madison? It’s less selective than UMich but still a great school.

i would definitely consider madison, what exactly is the tuition agreement about though? i didnt know anything about this but i will definitely look into it.
yes, it is ann arbor, i am really glad that i am instate for that and i think i can get in, my friend who was instate got in with the same scores.

luckily i am no longer stessed, i got my loyola acceptance yesterday!!

-University of Michigan (in-state) - very good chance
-Marquette University- very good chance
-Boston College- reach
-Syracuse- very good chance
-drexel university - very good chance

If you would like to stay in-state and is looking for LACs perhaps also consider Kalamazoo College.

Congrats on Loyola

bump
10 char

i have looked at kalamazoo but it might be a bit to small. also in-state isn’t important, but i am looking mostly at schools in the east, midwest, and maybe the south but probably the first 2.
