Chance me please, though I'm shooting way too big

Yeah, I know my college list seems outrageous, but just bear in mind that my school is pretty good at getting kids into top colleges, we get about 30 kids a year into Cornell, with an average of 3.7 for the accepted GPAs at Cornell. Just a small example.

High School Class: 2009
Nationality: Indian, born there, been in the US for about 8 years
GPA: 3.5. This is the killer, I slacked off the first two years, but I do have an upward trend, 3.3-->3.54-->3.92
School: Really, really good public school, lots of kids getting into ivies and tops schools with the exception of MIT
Hoping to Study: International Relations/Math

AP Course-load

Sophomore:
AP European History (4)
AP Computer Science AB (4)

AP Physics C- Mechanics: 4
AP Chem: 5

Senior:

AP Statistics
AP Spanish

Yeah, it's the most intensive course-load in my school. I haven't listed honors courses, but lets just say all honors courses that are possible to take have been taken. My counselor will write something of the fact that I have the toughest class list in my grade, which should help.

SAT (Superscored):

Total: 1510/2300

Schools

REALLY BIG REACHES
Princeton
UPenn
Brown

Others (Reaches, Matches, and almost NO safeties, I think I'm a high chance at Binghamton due to instate so that will do)
Cornell
Columbia (Coming from our school, Columbia isn't too hard to get into, a 3.77 is the average)
Georgetown
Tufts
NYU
Northwestern
UChicago
UMich (OOS, safety, our school is a feeder to Michigan)
Binghamton (In-state, Safety)

Not a problem to reach big when you have a safety like Binghamton where you can apply early action and have in hand. You certainly have a chance at those schools, but as you know they are a crap shoot even for perfect candidates. The grades can be a problem, along with the fact that you are local to all of these schools. You are competing with so many kids in the NY area. Everyone seems to be applying the these same schools. I am not so sure that any of them are matches really, given that. Why don't you look for some schools out of area where you will have a good shot? YOu can apply to Michigan, rolling admissions and have that in hand, for instance, and it can also be a litmus test of sort. Perhaps something like Wash College, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, would add a little variety to your list.

Actually, Northwestern and UChicago were originally on my list, but I forget to put them here. Thanks for reminding me about it though, and thanks for the advice.

bump please?

You're from the New York area? Do you go to one of the specialized science high schools (Brooklyn Tech, Bronx Science or Stuyvesant)?

If you did, I think that would have an impact on your chances as those schools are very familiar to top colleges.

Sadly, no. I go to a public school, Horace Greeley High School, which is supposedly ranked in the top 30 Public Schools in the nation. We get kids into all the top schools every year, except MIT who doesn't like us at all.

Final bump, I guess, since no one is sure of what to say. ; _ ;

Princeton REACH
UPenn REACH
Brown REACH

Cornell IN
Columbia REACH
Georgetown IN
Tufts IN
NYU IN
Northwestern IN
UChicago IN
UMich IN
Binghamton IN

I pretty much agree with the above poster, except I think Cornell, Georgetown, and Northwestern might still be slight reaches, I wouldn't guarantee that you'd get in there, but you've got a good shot. As for the rest, the above poster got it 100% right.

Out of interest, if I were to add Dartmouth, another reach, where would it stand in comparison to others?
