CHANCE ME PLEASE: UC BERKELEY, U MICHIGAN, UNIVESITY OF ILLINOIS URBANA, UCLA

Hey guys I was wondering if you could please chance me for my grades and my application I finished junior year and I am hypothetically writing my projected senior first semester grades. I am looking for chancing for cal, michigan, Illinois and ucla. Before starting I would like to say and I screwed up in freshman year due to a severe case of atopic dermatitis on my chest which oozed and impeded me from even going to class most of the time. It was so bad that I had to wear patches and I was forced to quit my sport due to it. Every other day I had to go to one and a half hours of laser therapy and I used strong topical steroid ointment that changed my pigment slighty. With that being said I am very scared that my freshman grades will cancel all my chances ( not 2 gpa range) and I wanted also some advice on mentioning my condition to colleges to help. Alright here are my freshman through hypothetical senior first semester along with EC's.

UC system does not take freshman year into account.
If your UC weighted GPA is high, which is probably is given the fact that you seem like the type to take AP classes, you can get up to a 4.33 UC GPA.

I would say that, given your stated achievements, that you have a VERY good chance of getting into UC Berkeley, and UCLA (You have a very high chance of getting into both).

If your SAT score is around 2200, then you have an AMAZING chance of all colleges on the list.

Congrats on being such a great student, keep up the great work. Also, given your GPA and stats, you should aim for even higher. You have a pretty good chance for Ivy League colleges, with those stats (assuming you can get about 99percentile on SAT/ACT, like a 2200 or 33, which should not be too tough for someone with your academic standing).

^do you believe for the other colleges like u michigan( who don’t count freshman year into gpa) eill accept and hoe bad will the c+ affect. Also isn’t the fact that many schools don’t weight freshman grades even worse

Where is your SAT/ACT score? If you don’t have one yet, you are really behind in schedule. Also, there is no way to chance you without a valid score. Also, you need to tell what is your intended major and where is your home state?

@billsco sat score 2300, 2320 on second try. Gonna apply undecided most likely ( probably either computer science in the college of arts in sciences or business)

@billscho valid score meaning valid senior grades? I’m using this as hypothetical I was wondering if u could judge the hypothetical senior grade as just like the rest ( other than senior grades everything else is legit and reported) I live in California

As the admission officer would not see your hypothetical grades, I would not count on them. Your cumulative GPA is around 3.77. It is below the admission average for UMich LSA. Your SAT score is good, but UMich put more weight on GPA than other schools. For oos, you would be a very high match to low reach.

@billcsho oos for which school? Umichigan, and suppose I did earn that grade first semester next year, what would me my chances. Also what about other schools like ucla and or UIUC? Thanks

@98cars I am only chancing you for UMich above. Your first semester grade will be evaluated if you are applying RD rolling or got deferred from EA. That should bring you up to ~3.83 which is very close to the admission average but you will still be a very high match.
For LAS, UIUC is a bit easier than UMich LSA to get in with several exceptions like ChemE and Computer Science. There are 2 Computer science program in LAS. One with Math and one with Statistics. Since UIUC admits you directly into a major, your chance would vary depending on the program. For CS, I think it would be similar to other majors in Engineering that the admission average GPA would be close to 3.9. Your SAT is fine though. It should be a very high match to low reach unless you are in state which would be a match.
For UCLA, you need to calculate the UC GPA while your SAT is above the 75%. If your UC GPA is good, you should be a match as in state.

@billcsho‌ yea my uc gpa would be 4.29 with the Cap. Kk thanks for all the help
