I have a cumulative 3.4 GPA, studied at a Canadian university for a year, satisfied all pre-reqs for my major and IGETC (besides the oral communication and poli. science part for CSU transfer). Played Softball, full-time working student, participated in a MESA (Math, English, Science Association) program from my community college. And will be receiving my A.A. degree in Natural Sciences and Mathematics this Summer. Last year I applied to UCLA and got rejected because I was missing only ONE pre-req for my physiological sciences major (which I completed last semester) and was rejected by UCSD because I did not have a TAG agreement. I don't have a TAG agreement this year because I was told by my college counselor that I wouldn't qualify for it because I have foreign transfer credits.

UC's I have applied for this year:

UC Irvine
UC San Diego
UCLA (again)
UC Riverside
UC Merced
UC Santa Barbara
UC Santa Cruz
UC Davis

CSU's I have applied for this year:
San Francisco State Uni.
CSU Long Beach

What would you guys say my chances are in getting into any of these schools. My top priorities are UCLA, UC Irvine, CSU Long Beach, UC Riverside, and UCSD.

I would say Riverside and Merced for sure and maybe even Santa Cruz depending on your major.

UCLA is a very high reach unless you’re going for an unpopular major. UCSD may be a high reach also. The rest are all reaches but its possible you can get into a few of them :)

Well… I would’ve thought since I had the same GPA last year when I applied to UCLA as a physiological sciences major but was missing only one pre-req class which I have just completed… I may have a better shot in getting in this year. But most of the school’s I have applied for are Biological Sciences, Biology, and for Physiology majors.

Here is the admission statistics for fall 2011. It seems for UCLA the average GPA for Biology was a 3.72. Over 1,000 people applied and only 152 were admitted. So its a tough major to get into.
[Profile of Admitted Transfer Students by Major, Fall 2011 - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_tr/Tr_Prof11_mjr.htm)

37.14% for each respective school.

No. I’m kidding. The best method is to compare with previous admit numbers (GPA, number of units, etc). Even then, this does not factor in the essays, ECs, and the human factor.

You’ve already applied. Just wait it out. A reaffirmation from an unqualified poster (which we all are) is not going to assist the process.

EDIT: Opps I just noticed you applied to the physiological sciences major at UCLA. The average gpa was a 3.61 and its a quite smaller major so you should have more luck with that!
