ESSAYS
CommonApp: 8/10
Supplements: 9/10 (Especially the Harvard and Cornell essays)
UC essays: 7/10
MIT: I genuinely have no idea. But I was honest so okay I guess?
Georgia Tech: 7/10

Anyways thanks so much! Harsh comments are always welcome, if not preferred! :D

I dont see much EC focussed on Engineering. The service stuff is great though.
So based on that here are my predictions

MIT (applying for financial aid) - reach

Berkeley - match

Stanford - reach

Princeton (Applying for financial aid) - reach

Cornell - possible reach/low match

Harvard (Applying for financial aid) - reach

Georgia Tech - match

UCLA -match

Depends how they like you in your essays. I think the concert master EC is good…a lot of colleges like the band folks (stanford, princeton)…but it depends on your essays and how many they are looking at from the pool of candidates from your region. Also even though you are an international, the 650 CR score might hurt in the ivies…as so many have like over 750 in all three sections.

Thanks trinityforcollege! Yea, I was worried about the CR: 650… Oh well, it’s too late now since SAT centers here are all full! Just hoping for the best now! haha I guess the Ivies/Stanford and MIT were just for experience; realistically, I think I might be at Berkeley :D

MIT (applying for financial aid) - reach

Berkeley - low reach

Stanford - reach

Princeton (Applying for financial aid) - reach

Cornell - low reach

Harvard (Applying for financial aid) - reach

Georgia Tech - match

UCLA - match

You have great ECs! But you applied to a lot of schools that are reaches for everyone - Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, and MIT. Good luck!

thanks chaosakita!! haha yea, i think i’ll be going to berkeley or cornell realistically!

Your IB scores and the depth of your ECs stand out – especially those involved with music. Solid application imo.

MIT (applying for financial aid) - Reach

Berkeley - Match

Stanford - Reach

Princeton (Applying for financial aid) - Reach

Cornell - Low Reach (Depends on which college you’re applying to and what major)

Harvard (Applying for financial aid) - Reach

Georgia Tech - Match

UCLA - Match

Good luck!

Weakness: CR score, International applicant, non-engineer focused EC’s
Strengths: Awards and depth of EC’s

 1. MIT (applying for financial aid) - reach
 2. Berkeley - match
 3. Stanford - reach
 4. Princeton (Applying for financial aid) - reach
 5. Cornell - low reach
 6. Harvard (Applying for financial aid) - reach
 7. Georgia Tech - match
 8. UCLA -match

Good luck :)

Help me out?

Thanks crabfish125 and collegeinfo1994! Sure I’ll chance you back!

Wow, I’m quite jealous of your 800 SAT in math! UCLA and Berkeley definitely, also Georgia Tech and even Cornell. MIT and Princeton might be bit of a reach. Harvard is a reach for everyone :frowning:
I’m sure you’ll get in the rest, you’re really well rounded!

Your IB scores are amazing!!! Match for all the UC’s, Stanford and tech. Reach for the rest but hey you never know! Btw Harvard loves IB. Good Luck!

IB FTW!!!

Thanks fleurebelle95 and rubybuddga! haha I’m jealous of your CR score! hahaha if only IB scores were a big factor in admissions. Besides they’re only predicted scores, not actual scores.

Bumpity bump bump bump?

Bumpity bump!

Your stats are pretty amazing, esp. in the EC’s department. The only thing on there that could hurt you is the CR score, which is definitely low for top schools. I’d say you’re in at UCLA, Berkeley, GTech, and probably Cornell (high match/low reach). Stanford, Princeton, MIT, and Harvard are reaches for anyone. You definitely have a shot at all of them, but as an international, the competition is ridiculous, especially if you applied for financial aid. Honestly, these schools are quite unpredictable, all you can do is hope for the best. Good luck!

Thanks Pacopal! Anyone else willing to chance me?

Being an international will be a boon rather than a bane imo

(also gave you my guestimate of your chance in percent)

MIT (applying for financial aid) - reach 25%

Berkeley - low reach 50%

Stanford - reach 30%

Princeton (Applying for financial aid) - reach 30%

Cornell - low reach 45%

Harvard (Applying for financial aid) - reach 25%

Georgia Tech - low match 75%

UCLA -match 70%

CR score a little low which may hurt but your profile looks very solid. Best of luck :)

What do you mean, you got first in the country for IGCSE maths? Aren’t full marks fairly common…?
Sorry I can’t do much by way of chancing you :S I doubt I have more knowledge of your chances than you do… and there’s no way I can properly evaluate your essays either. You look like a pretty solid candidate though, and really good on paper, so there’s not much point stressing about it! Good luck
