I'm going to apply next month for the 2010 fall term at ucla as a Music History major. The acceptance rate is high (79%) but it doesn't look like I'll have enough transferable units by the end of spring. My total units will be in the mid-60's but my transferable units will be 55 at max I think. As of now, my cumulative GPA is 3.5 and my UC-transferable GPA is 3.4.

Do you think I'll have to wait another year? I REALLY don't want to, especially when I'm just 5 units away. Thanks.

“Junior-level standing (60 semester/90 quarter transferable units completed) by the end of the spring term before you transfer”

You NEED to finish at least 60 units before you transfer. My brother applied to UCLA, he was missing one math course and he did not get accepted. However, he got accepted by UCB. Thus, they’re pretty strict about the requirements.

no, you can’t transfer with 55 units.
HOWEVER, you can tell them that you’ll be done with ur IGETC by the end of spring term. then maybe take a couple summer courses.
I got into UCLA with exactly 60 units, and after 2 weeks of going to school here, the admission sent me an email saying they need my IGETC Certificate or else I might have to take more GE classes here at UCLA.
