So confused - please help!!!!

I'm a current UCR freshman and pretty much hating it. I came in with 24 units and am taking 18 units currently (and will be winter and spring as well). I also wanted to take 2 or 3 summer courses at UCLA. This puts me at Junior standing by fall 2010.

So the question is, apply now to UCLA UCSD UCSB and UCD as a junior transfer, with no gpa to speak of until december

or some other alternative? which I don't really know what else to do.

i REALLY want to get out of here, so any help would be useful. please and thank you

i dont know if this is important but
SAT - 1970
HS UC GPA - 3.6
massive amounts of extracurriculars including theater, student council, piano.
3 aps - all passed

yes! go ahead and apply
they take into account yoru fall gpa so do AS WELL as you can! :)

Wait a minute. Since you’re coming from UCR which goes by a quarter system. You need 90 quarter units to be eligible for junior level transfer. 60 semester units is equivalent to 90 quarter units.

point well taken i’m new to the quarter system thing oh boy

Yeah… I’ll have 90 quarter units by Fall 2010

apply but don’t expect to get in anywhere. you wont have a GPA until you update in January and the chances that they will accept you on the basis of grades from one quarter is very small.

if you have the time and motivation to get into a better UC, switch to CC and TAG all the schools you want to go to (you can’t TAG Cal/UCLA but everywhere below that) and apply to Cal/UCLA.

best of luck

arghhh. are there any other choices? if i ask the people at the offices here they try and convince me to give it more of a chance and they wont answer my questions.

that’s because they don’t care about you…:)

on the other hand your loving family here at college confidential is always open for service :D:D:D

yeah. reason number ten thousand why ucr sucks.

you have decent high school stats, why did you choose ucr? i got into ucr, ucsc and ucm and i chose the community college alternative and i got into ucsd, so im set. just wondering, dont have to respond if its personal… i know too many people who just do drugs all day there, i hate the atmosphere of riverside.

well i loved it when i first visited. then i got here and saw that everyone goes home every weekend. and i try to keep busy with friends and classwork, but the truth is it’s just a lame ass atmosphere.

if i had known, i would have taken the cc root.

wow, route. not root. ***.
